a typical day at work:
Expect to be carried and/or looked down upon by senior selectors until you manage to prove yourself to the top tier of laborers. There is an inevitable level of toxicity due to the bonus structure; the handful of speed-demon, hard-working, motivated selectors push themselves to the limit every night, ensuring the team is able to leave at a decent time, bearing the literal burden of their new and/or unmotivated counterparts.

Efficiency is everything, inside and outside of work.
management:
Very inadequate, non-understanding HR, focused on politics such as diversity and retention rate rather than filtering the revolving door of employees and keeping the ones that truly care. Day shift managers govern the night crew—without being able to physically be there at the same time, there will always be a disconnect between trust on a personal and professional level, paired with the yes-man type attitude consistent throughout management above supervisors.
workplace culture:
Sometimes toxic & cliquey. Typically everyone has a shared rage toward management and has no problem stating it among peers.
the hardest part of the job:
The job itself. You cannot do it forever. Far from worth spending your time there unless you are able to motivate yourself to make a bonus every week.
the most enjoyable part of the job:
The labourer crew is generally very welcoming and excited to work with new hires, but will expose flaws in coming weeks without holding any words back. Lots of "iron sharpens iron" vibes to the warehouse, especially among order selectors.


I worked 12 hour night shifts 6pm-6am. I spent those 12 hours driving a pallet jack around the warehouse filling it with product.
My managers were great easy going people. Co-workers were also great, never had problems with anyone. Hardest part of the job was around the last couple hours when everyone was tired and just wanted to go home, It made the last couple hours go by much slower than the last 10. Most enjoyable part of the job was driving the pallet jack. I loved how easy and fast I could get to any location in the warehouse.

This is a very difficult place to work if you care about your safety. They say that they have a very good safety record but that's only because they don't report incidents. I hit my head (my own fault trying to go faster then I should have), split it open and all they did was give me a spray of alcohol and some paper towel and told me to go wait in the parking lot for my ride. Then they didn't fill out a incident report till 4 days later after I made them.
Night shift management needs a course on how to talk to people and how to deal with incidents properly.

Any given day at the company is extremely busy with a never ending list of duties which makes the days go extremely quickly. The highlight of my days are spent negotiating with vendors and maintaining a professional relationship and getting to use my creativity on a daily basis. The hardest part of the job is that sometimes those negotiations are quite difficult and may not go as expected, so you have to learn to adapt to changes at a moments notice. All in all, I love what I do.

To keep this short and sweet, having worked multiple warehouses across Canada this has by far been the worst of the worst. 
The culture on the floor is the only driving factor for coming back day to day.
Leadership and above run the warehouse as if it's a dictatorship needing to know everything about everyone to micromanage each employee and tune them to how they want them to be. If compliance isn't there, you're let go.
Steer clear and keep your options open.

I'd have to read work orders and build pallets with the listed items that would be wrapped, loaded onto a truck and delivered to a supermarket. I learned how to prioritize items, placing them in their proper place for health reasons as well as for stability. The most enjoyable part of this job was that I could work at a fast pace and with the possibility of getting incentive if the required amount of work was done.

This is a good company to work for, most staff members are friendly and helpful. Very big company and lots of room to grow within the company. I've made some friends within this company. My Husband also works  for this company, and he's been there since 2008. He is a truck driver so his advancement within the company are minimal, but he has gotten numerous pay raises. The company has also been lenient when it came to certain personal matters.

Unload product to clients. Management could use a little work, although there are some people in management that actually know what they are doing and know how to treat their employees. This company has a high turn-over rate, but with saying that there are people that have been there for years. They are respectable people and not just my co-workers, but also my friends.

Poor support working, left on your own to figure things out, almost impossible to get any help. Pay is not good for the amount of work required. Felt very unsafe working here, no one has any regard for safety. Poor attitude by employees, everyone complains about the job. Upper management, however, is trying to make things better but this cannot work unless the employees are also willing to put in the effort

You never know how many hours you work a night.poor organization of stock . Some lead hands sit in the office all night and play games on there phone...others are helpful.   Some lead hands need to be trained to deal with employees. Most there worry about thereselves and no chance for advancement....most friendly there are the temp forgein workers..
