Working for Atlantic Superstore has been an experience that I have thoroughly appreciated. I would highly recommend this position to individuals seeking to explore alternative avenues or indulge in a novel experience. In my opinion, this job is not stressful, and I was motivated to learn the role and perform to the best of my abilities.

I express immense gratitude towards the amicable staff members who warmly accepted me into their community and extended their unwavering support throughout. Each team member has been incredibly instrumental in imparting vital strategies and techniques that allowed for an efficient completion of daily work. It was awe-inspiring to witness experienced team members eagerly offer their insights and demonstrate their commitment to excellence, which served as an inspiration for me to perform to the best of my abilities.

One of the most critical factors that contributed to this being an existentially rewarding experience was the unique team dynamic. The mutual exchange of ideas, leveraging the patterns from the team members' experiences, and the continuous sharing of information helped me understand the role better. This comprehensive support system enabled me to stay ahead of the game, plan the next steps, and ensure that the pace remained under control, even during busier times.

Moreover, the feedback and insights shared by my fellow teammates were invaluable and enabled me to perform optimally. As a new member of the team, I found it immensely helpful to receive constructive feedback that allowed me to understand how best to contribute without creating additional work.

I express gratitude towards my manager, who was a kind-hearted leader, and my assistant manager, who was equally supportive and intelligent. The same harmonious work dynamic was present across my department, which allowed for seamless completion of daily tasks.

This experience occurred during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when grocery purchases surged due to the uncertainty caused by the pandemic. In hindsight, I have come to appreciate that this was an exceptional opportunity to work with people of good-hearted spirits. I have photographs of my work, and the pride I took in my work is evident in the care that is visible in the photographs. I cherish the memories of my former colleagues and miss working alongside them. In my opinion, this exceptional work experience was the result of the exemplary leadership and incredible people who make up the Atlantic Superstore community, and for that, I am eternally grateful. :)

What is the best part of working at the company?
Literally the only good is weekly pay and benefits are affordable and pretty good once you have then. Treat days are cool but idk if they still do that or not.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
HMR is an avoid, empty promises, hours never guaranteed and cut even when you are "full time", full time is a load as you are hired on as part time technically.
Evening shifts are most stressful as you have to make sure things are done so depending on staff and such you end up staying late alot. Cleaning the deep fryers is a pain, quite literally, it's a very physical job. Hour cuts could mean you are alone alot at times. You may not have the people you need. It gets stressful when it's busy and you get behind on your work. When I worked there they didn't have proper things like gloves to clean certain things. Shipments weren't always guaranteed so supplies you need weren't always supplied. On top of customers there's also door dash. Its mentally and physically draining at times.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The environment can be bad if the fans don't work, the ventilation isn't always good. Things tend to not work or break alot, there's been fires and such. So you have to be careful. The pans are old and times can be sharp and got to be careful with rare chicken as well and wash your hands alot. The culture was alright, but like communication was awful. Instead of talking to you they just call amd talk to your manager, it was weird, like why couldn't you just communicate to me directly. At times there are treat days which was nice but it all depends, idk if they still do that or not.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Got to learn patience and also be quick and have time management. If you have anxiety I highly recommend you avoid HMR, it's very busy, alot of cooking, you have to make things are done at a certain time. Customers can be rude so be sure to not be hard on yourself, happens at least once daily. Alot of lifting. Working with flavored raw whole chickens and frying products so be aware you may burn yourself. Lots of dishes so there's chemicals so if you have sensitive skin please be sure to use gloved. The sinks are deep and you have to be cautious of the water as it can get really hot.

You walk in and punch in. serve customers or do forms of stocking shelves, or cooking or prepping ingredients (all dependent on your position) and then punch out. easy work, can be fast passed or slow depending on the day. Management is not the greatest but that's what you get at corporations with no incentive to modernize. The saying, "if it aint broke why change it" goes well at this establishment which is the king at penny-pinching. (wasn't surprised by the 2 billion dollar allegation in the news a couple years back) 

Management changes rapidly as they over work and under pay there staff; especially management. i find management is always overstressed and overworked. Alot of lucrative family-friends getting position upgrades aka not based on time and skill level but based on who you know and where you sit with relation to them. NO HR in the company; which allows management to be reckless. Store manager works primarily in the office and is incentivized based on data that the head office provides not on staff or client retention. They barely if ever come help when an issue arises carrying more about how the customer and company perceives them, than how and what they actually perform at the establishment.

 The corporation is always trying to audit you and ensure that you are signing and complying to all there agreements; every couple of months. if you disagree well then you will be terminated; lol from a low wage job ( i always found that funny. )

the one good thing is freedom of your schedule and the care free attitude about not going when you don't want to go upto 4 hours prior to your shift. aka part time casual is the new hiring force. 

My typical day working at the bakery 
Slice bread 
Make garlic bread 
Organize and arrange anything that was not in place 
Package and tag any item that need to go on the shelf's and tables
Clean the bakery, take garbage and cardboard to the garbage bins 
Help customers any way i could even if it was not in my department.
Write on cakes
Fill and stock areas that got low or empty of items
Bag breads and items into big bags for the end of the night sale

Most of the time I would work afternoons till closing and I would close up the bakery.

I have learned a lot about how different items are made and how and what to do if something were to happen, and how to talk to a customer if they were not happy with a service that they had with another employee, and how to resolve there problem and make sure they were satisfied before they left my department. 

If it was a busy night I would write down everything that was needed to be done, I would no how much time each thing required, then make sure I have enough time left over, in case something were to happen that I could not control and that i would make sure that all  my work was done before the end of my shift. 

My co-worker were easy to work with, we all got along, if they needed something done and did not have time to finish it, they knew they could come to me and ask for help.

The hardest part of the job was only in the being, it was getting used to time management more then i was used to, but a little while of working there I was good at time management and now i'm really good at time management and know how to make sure everything that needs to be done gets done.

The most enjoyable part of the job was able to help people when they needed it and being able to help my co-workers in anyway they needed help in.

My typical day at Superstore was busy,very fast-paced, and the store was very unorganized. The management was okay as some of them were overwhelmed too but I have to say, they did believe in being part of a team. I learned how to fill out vouchures, put through house charges, checks, putting through coinstar receipts, and I learned how put through coupons. I also learned how to adjust prices while dealing with other departments when things went wrong. And I put products back on the shelf if there was time. Some Of my co-workers were friendly, some of them weren't..a lot of them complained a lot. The hardest part of this job was dealing with difficult customers, prices not ringing up right, trying to get a hold of other departments to fix something and surviving off of the little amount of hours i was getting. The most enjoyable part of this job was the kids that came in with their parents, they would just brighten your day. The regular customers that looked for you every time they went the store made you feel good too.

at first it was all good, but when a few months rolled by everything changed for the worst. A few employees along with some supervisors where not treating me like i should have.... All because they didnt like french people, i didn't know in a day in age we are at now that people would live like the older days, and judge people by the way they talk. 
I did report it and it go dealt with that i had to quit, because i couldn't take the juging and stuff and my anxiety just went up, best thing for me was quitting.
Also the whole break/lunch and ends of shift where not too organized.
Getting told by your supervisor that  you are a liar. story goes... I had a 9 hour shift with hour not pad for lunch and usual 2 15 minute breaks... that day I received my 15 minute break when i was supposed to get it and then when it came to my lunch break no one was coming to take my place , not knowing what was going on i asked after 2 hours that my lunch was supposed to take place and they just kept on saying they didnt know what was going on. After asking multiple times and getting the same answer i gave up. then they came and told me that my last break as up and then asked about my lunch and told me that i had went cuz she ( the department manager) marked me off herself and told me , and that i was lying that i didnt have it.
All in all nothing was really organized.

A day at work would mainly consist of checking out and bagging shopping, assisting customers on a regular basis, counting money and giving out correct change, covering colleagues so they can have their break/lunch and greeting/thanking customers as they enter and leave the building. I learnt quite a lot at my previous job, including how to change receipt rolls, developed my social and people skills and how to correctly and efficiently use a till. My management at the workplace was very good, always helping and being appreciative, making sure all employees where happy and content, all the while being professional and helpful. Co-workers were very easy to be around and talk to, being able to talk to and enjoy time spent with them, and when shifts needed filling or changing, they where there to help ease pressure. The hardest part of the job i would say would be having long shifts with no one else available, meaning customers would be very irritated and dealing with them would be difficult at times but manageable. The most enjoyable part of the job would be meeting new colleagues and customers, talking and conversing with them as everyone would have different stories to say and getting to know them would be a memorable part of working.

Working here has been one of the worst experiences of my life. I received improper training, was put alone on shifts within the first week or so (so no one around to ask for help when I needed), the management team is hardly around and extremely difficult to reach, my department manager schedules me in a day before and doesn't even have the decency to notify me (he has my number), my minimal "days/nights I can't work" requests were completely ignored, I often can't even get into their program to see my hours, my department is required to spend hours per day lugging out carts in which 95% of items are already fully/well stocked (so a completely and utter waste of time, yet required for some reason), back room is a complete mess and tiny as can be (I've spent 45 minutes trying to get a milk palette out), people regularly miss shifts and nothing is done about it, store is poorly maintained (fridges smell of rotten milk for weeks on end), I could go on and on.

I'm not sure if it's just the store I work at (hidden for confidentiality) or not, but I've heard bad things about working at Atlantic Superstore from multiple locations.

I worked on the night crew for 3.5 years, 5 nights a week, and no vacation. This job is very physically demanding, working nights is tough, never enough staff on duty, and management is THE WORST! They have no people skills and treat you like you are less than human. I never missed a shift and never called in sick,etc. They would never compliment you on the good work the crew did or for that matter, even say good morning or how good the store looked when they came in for their day shift. My legs and back got so sore that I asked the manager for a few days off ( without pay) and he refused. I wonder how many people could work 3.5 years of nights, 40hrs per week, at 12.25 per hour. I had no life and was treated like I was a nobody. I never quit anything in my life but the management and union were useless and I could not bare the pain any longer.  I have never seen turnover of employees like I saw at the Bathurst Superstore. And it was really sad as there so many good people who worked for them but all were treated the same way. No one ever smiled in the place.......

A typical day at work starts with filling the showcase for the customers, then doing up the orders for that day and the ones that are due to be picked up early the next morning. Next you work on your back up. While all this is happening you are also slicing bread and writing on cakes for customers. I normally take my lunch around 1 then come back finishes the back up and then fill the showcase again. Then you clean up your dishes, check the temperatures of all the coolers, bunkers and freezer, sweep the floors, and go home. I have learned that not only do you have to work hard but it is a lot better when you go the extra mile so you can always say I tried my best. Management is rather good except when no one is there then it is a bit hectic. Myself and my co-workers work together to make sure all the customers get looked after and that someone is always in the bakery. The hardest part of the job is know how many cakes to order in where I am not yet used to that. I enjoy decorating the Disney cakes and working hard on the orders so the customers are happy.
