At Aurora, you are treated as if you are a number to the company. Not a regular human being, but as if you are a robot that doesn't need water, food, or breaks. In harvest, you will bust your butt every day for 10 hours straight with no recognition. You have to meet the quotas of plants harvested or: you will be sent to the wash bay (a cleaning room that's as hot as a sauna from the hot water and has no fans), you will be watched more by the cameras, or you will be forced to do something you don't like. Even if you are the fastest harvester in the room, they will keep you there and never let you be promoted. If you wanted a job with social interaction, this is the exact opposite. You are forced to stay at your station and harvest, but if you talk to anyone, you will be harassed by management since they think it interferes with production. They even make you use a hall pass to go to the bathroom, humiliating and childish right? This job requires you to use repetitive motion which leaves you very sore. If you come up with an idea, it will be ignored or you will not be given credit for it. You are exposed to hazardous conditions such as moldy weed, isopropyl alcohol, lack of ventilation and violent coworkers. Theft from the company runs rampant here, after all Aurora hires drug addicts who sneak out product in their gloves, ID badge, shoes, etc. The people you work with can be ex-convicts as Aurora does not background check. Health Canada regulations are broken every single day, since coworkers take weed that falls on the floor and put it in their totes to boost their numbers. I also see people use their dirty phones, which haven't been sanitized, and touch the weed. What the company doesn't realize is that they're pumping out the worst quality product and expecting harvest to meet quotas set by people who have never stepped foot out of their office. I wouldn't believe the 100,000 kilogram production capacity promise by this company. Aurora has one of the highest turnover rates I have ever seen. When I used to worked in the Bottling department (final stage of production) it was absolute chaos: broken million-dollar machines, workers that don't show up, and constant screaming at each other. You will notice that your pay will be shorted and it takes forever to get the missing money added. This company needs to get back to the basics and care more about their employees. I strongly recommend applying elsewhere.

When I first started at Aurora it was an exceptional place to work. They honoured the cannabis culture and seemed to make it about the patients who relied on medical cannabis for their quality of life. As time went on it became more and more about profit and growth however this was not done in a sustainable way. Focus was on becoming the biggest cannabis company in the world and catering to the C-suite execs. The concert series they put on and the acquisitions of other cannabis companies made Aurora  hemorrhage money to the point where they decided the only feasible option was to lay off the frontline workers who work directly with the patients and plants, while execs encountered minimal fallout. They in turn had tripled workloads without any added compensation or legitimate opportunity for growth. They promised that there would be only one round of layoffs and later went through 3, one of which happened right before Christmas. Their product suffered and they sold subpar medicine to desperate medical users. They altered their compassionate pricing standards for their low income clients so that they received very little deductions on medicine they needed to survive. Employees adapted out of fear and it became a culture to fend for yourself and team mentality disappeared with any chance of growth. This company is in the midst of a free fall and desperately grasping for anything to keep it afloat, even if that means using people as their floatation devices. Employees are expendable and profit is top priority. If you’re looking for somewhere to work I suggest you look elsewhere.

A typical day working at aurora consisted of making up your own work (because management had no idea what they were doing) or doing work that would get pawned off onto you because 90% of the people were there to "manage" and "facilitate" work getting done while not actually doing anything tangible. The 10% of people actually doing anything were forced to complete projects that would never see the light of day, while under scrutiny from 7 different project managers.

However if you were able to pawn off any of those duties onto a less suspecting person, you would not only be rewarded, you might even see a raise.

If you're the type of narcissistic person that enjoys belittling others when your own level of knowledge isn't high enough to complete a simple task, then Aurora is likely going to be the perfect place for you!

This company is filled with a bunch of know-it-alls but for some reason couldn't figure out why the budget was never balanced. The leadership from management up to C level executives are filled with incompetent, lazy people that only want to sit on the top and tell everybody below them to pat them on the back. If you stop stroking their larger than life ego, you'll be quickly reprimanded so it's best not to bite the spoon that feeds you.

From one idiot CEO who milked the company for every penny he could get, to the new idiot CEO who thinks that using the same strategy as the failed one will show up any type of results. 

A career with Aurora, if you have done enough brown nosing, completed 300% of work that was expected of you, and smiled the whole time, they'll likely give you a 1% annual raise.

I’ve been with Aurora for six years, and when I first started, it genuinely felt like a great place to build a career. Over time, though, the experience has changed significantly.

Compensation and recognition feel heavily weighted toward management and executive levels. While bonuses at the top appear substantial, employees below management often receive minimal incentive despite carrying a large share of the operational workload. This has created a noticeable gap in morale between leadership and frontline staff.

The transition to a new benefits provider this year, was presented as an improvement for employees, but the experience has been frustrating. Several healthcare practitioners who previously offered direct billing under the former provider no longer work with the current one, forcing employees to pay out of pocket and submit claims manually. In addition, claim processing times are significantly longer than before, creating unnecessary delays and added financial strain for employees who rely on timely reimbursement.

At the operational level, many team members feel overextended and undercompensated relative to expectations and production demands. There is a strong work ethic among frontline employees, but support and acknowledgment do not always feel proportionate.

Aurora still has talented employees and significant potential. However, unless there is a meaningful shift toward fair compensation, accessible benefits, and genuine support for frontline staff, it risks continuing to lose the very people who keep the company running day to day.

Got hired on as an Industrial Cleaner. Their orientation is a joke at best. You get 0 training & are forced to learn everything on your own. Management is a nightmare. You're told that they welcome all suggestions to improvement but when you do they begin to dislike you. Stating that, "they are the experts", so your opinions & suggestions are nothing more than a wasted effort. 

There is a ton of favoritism there. Lazy employees in every division, leaving it up to the handful of good workers in the plant to make up for the lack of good workers. Nobody seems to care about the constant chaos brought on because of bad management. Apparently losing money due to poor management is not an issue for Aurora. 

Everything there is about hitting those #' s. Safety is quite frequently ignored because time is always crunched. You feel rushed with everything you do. 

If you're a person who strives to make things run as smooth as possible then forget about Aurora. If you take any pride in your work then also forget about Aurora. If you're ok with being just another #, slacking all day with everyone else & constantly wondering what exactly you're supposed to be doing then this is the company for you. 

Could be an amazing company to work for but unfortunately it's not. Lots of false promises. Beware, this company is not what it seems. Maybe a few years from now they will fix these issues but as it stands now this is one of the most unprofessional & poorly managed companies I've ever worked for in Canada.

You can learn a lot and experience many things in this environment that you don’t see at other companies, as you will get lots of exposure and opportunity. 

You will stretch yourself. You can also stretch yourself so hard that you snap, which happens often. Good “knowledge center” employees leave or are abruptly removed all the time, which means opportunity for advancement if you’re keen, but also turns simple daily tasks into an investigative interviewing journey or endless follow ups making it hard to get work done as everyone is picking up the pieces all the time. Multiple systems create double the work to pull simple data or complete a task.

The high level strategic direction has pivoted a lot so you’ll say goodbye often to amazing people you’ve built great relationships with and watch and participate in deconstructing the worlds you’ve just built. Everything is always being rebuilt as the company still pays for sins of the past and do not expect things to plateau. This is still a very new industry and everything is up for review whenever a new leader comes in (often) as there is plenty of turnover at all levels, in all departments.

If you can deal with change and lots of it, and find a good department insulated from poor strategic decisions with a good manager which gives you some stability, well then it’s a place to stay a while to experiment and learn, so long as management can keep the thing afloat.



Worked as an Industrial Cleaner. Orientation was an overload of information on SOP's. Shift scheduling was a nightmare at beginning. Took job based on 5/8hr shifts. 3 weeks in was told change to 4/10hr shifts. Didn't receive first paystub. Asked about it and was told they were emailed to you. Have to sign up for this service. Why was this not done in orientation???? Safety culture is a joke.Worked for weeks without a respirator when they were clearly needed. Brought up a few valid concerns and nothing changed. Management asks for input and when put forth ignored. Favoritism is rampant. No communication between departments. Constant complaints between departments. Brought some  concerns or issues to management and was laughed at. Started out with too few cleaners so you run your butt off during shift, now an overload so you stand with your thumb up your butt or co-workers are making rude remarks to you about about you doing 'their job', or they watch you work without asking if you need  a hand. Makes for a long shift. Forced schedule changes with no consideration for preferences or personal life. You will comply or out the door. Most of the personnel are friendly but the culture as a whole is very cliquey. Parking lot is a joke. Not enough spots. Waste management is a nightmare. Lunch room is way too small. Time crunch issues because of restructuring.

I finally had to leave. As a new company they are learning as to be expected..... however that shouldn't result in hopsital and doctors visits because of the work conditions ie, constantly breathing in (isopropyl alcohol), under ventilated over packed work rooms, extreme temperatures and an ABSOLUTELY TOXIC social environment. Between wearing winter coats and hats (I saw people wearing onsies ontop of clothing to stay warm) and wearing tank tops and leggings, your'e tossed in the mix from a day to day basis until they decide where you stay with people who don't want you there. The shifts are 4 on 4 off 10 hour days which is really good but you are constantly made to stay later and if you don't it severely hurts your employment. They switch between days and nights but the shift times are unlike anything I've seen before and were extremely draining because of the constant change. Of course there is good and bad to every job. There's always going to be the people who love it and you will absolutely see who those people are if you work there. I will let you know however that the reviews you have read are nothing like what you're in for if you actually work there. This is the tip of the iceberg.

All lies! They make it look like the A Company yet its the Z Company.

Managers have no idea what to do and will blame you for not knowing lol Well how I'm I supposed to know if you dont know anything. I have no idea how this company is going to survive. Staff from different departments dont communicate well with eachother, work is heavy, staff stressed out and overwhelmed (well I dont blame them), HR is a lie (we dont care about your 3k of weed insurance just be honest) and more and more to add to the list. 

I feel like because they're growing so fast they're not even taking the time to think. Sure keep buying companies and letting your employees suffer. one day it'll all crash and it happened before in other companies. 

The ones really profiting from all of this is the managers and the C-Executives. Typical of the greedy corporate pyramid scheme. The sadness is that you see all these young people trying to make and they have to kiss their managers b*tts so they can like them and progress. Yea thats how it works folks. Its about who you know not about what you know. Ive seen people getting promoted for absolutely no reason just because their manager likes them. Corruption at its finest. 

Dont waste your golden days guys. Look for a company that actually values you and takes the time to listen to u. or just start one and be the example!

management is horrible and lies through their teeth starting at the lowest level with coordinators and working its way up, cant/wont upgrade broken equipment just told to deal with it, stuck in the stone age hardly any automation to any of the processes as work loads continue to increase but employees are still required to meet demands, communication lacking in every way possible mostly from the people that work in offices, employee concerns go in one ear and out the other, if your not part of a certain group/clique you are just cast aside and not part of this so called "team", for being a multi million dollar company the benefits are the cheapest that could be found - want better coverage? dig deep into your pockets and shell out more cash off the cheque for it, good employees are treated like dirt have seen alot of them walk away whereas the employees that dont seem to have the positive cannabis attitude are treated like gold and can do no wrong, no room for advancement in this place if you dont kiss management's rear end just interviews apon interviews just to be told no we didnt choose you which is just one discouragement among many, the only great thing is the wage the rest is just stuff that employees shouldnt have to deal with in a multi million dollar company such as this.
