Seems like people who work here for a long time are stuck in their ways and not open to change. The work culture here is very based on if your manager likes you or not, and typically gaslighting is very frequent. Performing well at the job does not mean it will be acknowledged, as you will only be acknowledged when you do something wrong.  Customers are also rude and entitled bmw customers who personality wise are just as bad as their driving skills. People expect you to work hours even if you are NOT being compensated as if you are not doing them a favor, which I do not mind if everyone was nice and helped each other out, but that help is usually expected of you but not given back to you, and people can be passive aggressive which makes you less inclined to feel like working hard, and ultimately experience burnout. Being a teamplayer is expected of you, but not reciprocated back. If you want to give this place your 110% and work hard but not be appreciated, id recommend you to come here for work. 

I worked here for a year. With no disciplinary under me or anything of sorts. They
 ended up hiring someone new and firing me because I was going to take a “long” vacation that wasn’t yet to be denied or approved. I only work weekends so in reality I would only be missing 8 days. They gave me no warning what so ever. The only nice things were the colleagues you work with. They are chill and nice. This job is by no means stressful if you do your job. The only stressful part is the incompetence of managers. God for bids you talk about cars to customers if you are not a sales person. Instead of helping you succeed they bring you down and discourage you to not doing things outside your require responsibilities. Even if co workers appreciate it and customers appreciate especially during busy times. Which is shouldn’t be a problem if you don’t care and only want to work the minimum for the minimum.


If you are thinking of being a product genius / delivery specialist at this company, you might want to think twice before applying. 

Worked here a year ago and felt like being a product genius / delivery specialist position for this company is literally at the bottom of all position. 

- no commission after deliveries 

- wiping and dusting cars in showroom

- you HAVE to do RECEPTION. For some reason this company tries to combine these two jobs. (Too cheap to hire) 

- Terrible training for product knowledge 

- zero rewards, no recognition 

- GSM doesn't know what he is doing. Forgets almost half the things he informs to his employees with shallow words, and repeats the same words continuously. 

Even if it is close from home or you have no other choice. Please think twice before applying as a product genius / delivery specialist at this company.

I am a seasoned technician but I was treated like I was in elementary school. The smallest little mistake, you will be given notes from foreman and asked to sign it. Be prepared to be called into HR Office many times and they make you feel like you are 8 and in your principle office without your parents present to defend you. Respect is unheard of in this environment. They made all kinds of promises and yet I was paid the minimum salary a technician is paid. You will get more at kal Tire. The Foremen are unprofessional and rude. The turn over is high and job security is unheard of.

A typical day starts with review in 1-80 systerm of the customers/prospects information and status. contact them via email/phone/text message/WeChat message.
I learmed the current up-to-date BMW auto product information and knowledges, quite different from 5 years ago.
It has been pleasant to work here with all the team members.
The hardest part of the job would be satisfy all the needs of the customers. The most enjoyable part is can stay with all the cars of favorite brand and also deal with the customers.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great costumers, that was easily the best part.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The management team has recently changed. Honestly I would say they are rather obtuse. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
A lot of negativity has built up. Management lacks awareness and decency when dealing with staff.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Ups and downs like most places nowadays.

This place does not encourage personal career advancement. You get laid off whenever the interests misalign with them. Especially with the general sales manager and new preowned manager putting lots of pressure on the lot attendants without respect. HR was also fake and wasn’t helpful. So watch out for them. However rest of teams are fun to work with. 

The Controller and the Assistant Controller were extremely supportive as well as the Fixed Operations Manager. My only regret was we had to move to a different province that’s why I had to leave.

The people I got to work with at Auto West BMW from 2015 to 2018 were great team members and all shares common values of the business we all helped run. Management was interactive and happy to listen to employees. I always felt I could speak to someone if there was an issue.
