This company functions very differently from the private sector. Instead, it is more like a government agency with very low efficiency.
Despite its size, this company failed as a place to provide value to anyone. The only reason it exists is that credit unions across Canada are forced to use their services. For some reason, the regulatory bodies in Canada have not picked up on the gross negligence of this company.
It is frustrating to work here because the management makes ridiculously stupid decisions, and even then they have trouble following through. The mistakes and systematic failures are laughable.
It is entertaining to watch the company as a whole chasing after its own tail while knocking off everything without any sensible solutions being provided to the millions of problems it creates. I feel bad for the companies who rely on the services of Aviso.
If you are considering working for Aviso, just know that the company is led by a team of mostly incompetent people who are not very smart.

I worked here for several months earlier in the year. I cannot speak for all departments but my advice for Operations: stay clear. Management are hopeless, the team spirit non-existent and the communication between departments is appalling. There are no thorough checking procedures for work and the systems have the fragility of a Ming vase. 

Management are completely inflexible about working hours and you are expected to put in overtime at the drop of a hat. Due to ‘blackout periods’ and 'busy seasons’ they don’t let you take any vacation between November and March. Thinking of adding a little more 'life' into your work-life balance? Forget it. 

I might have forgiven them had any of the work been even remotely engaging or fulfilling. Instead you'd find more excitement in a bunch of bananas. I hear the company is shooting for a ‘great place to work’ award. That gave me a chuckle at least. 

It really opened my eyes to just how badly an organization can be run.

I have been with the company for a couple of years and have been with the Marketing team for most of that time. My advice to you and your career is to avoid working for Aviso, at least in the Marketing Department. If all you are looking for is a paycheck, then do it while you look for another career. If you are looking for a career, somewhere else would be best.

They are not interested in your advancement or being proper leaders. The amount of gossip, backstabbing and lying by management is rampant and sad. This is the culture management is fostering. Speaking your mind is used against you and taking pride in your work is looked at as a negative. The integrity of the management team is so low they have to continually hire their friends so they know they will say yes to their every whim. This is why the turn-over is consistent. Top talent leaves.

I am definitely learning what makes a management team terrible.

I was with Aviso for approximately 3 years in an administrative support role. I loved my work, i had great people to work with, and mentors that i really looked upto and learnt a lot from and I had great relationships with many - all of this really does take the sting out of the few aspects of "any" job that one is not happy with. Working here gave me structure personally and professionally, bettered my organizational skills and while i enjoyed being at work every day, there came a time when i wanted to actually do more and felt I was ready to move up in my role, but that was not a possibility- I received no support / encouragement either. As dismayed it made me, i had to lookout for myself and move on.
I do think that everyone's experience in the company is very dependent on their role, what their expectations are as well the quality of the Leadership in that division/ business line

Worked with Aviso since its inception and had exposure to variety of lines of business and unfortunately,  this is an organization that has a very poor culture.  While the CEO is very competent and caring, majority of his senior team is , duplicitous, passive- aggressive and un caring towards their staff.  Very political and self interested which then permeates to rest of staff. 

While this an organization that is owned by credit unions and should live by credit union values, the corporate culture does not live those values at all. Frankly, the corporate culture feels like the culture a chartered bank.  And that is not a culture to be envied.

While the company has strong products and ambitious goals, it struggles to foster a genuine sense of community among employees. The culture feels fragmented, with limited collaboration or connection between teams. Leadership talks about values like inclusivity and teamwork, but does not model them and there’s little visible effort to foster these values. Employee feedback doesn't lead to meaningful change.

Worst work experience I have every had. I was hired for one position and on my first day of work was told I would be working in another department. No warning, no advance notice. Lots of mergers, no one is on the same page. No transparency, outdated platforms, lack of organization. You will not find any work life balance at this company. At least not where I was working. Taking on too many partners without having policies and procedures in place leaving high volumes and confusion. I’m a bit traumatized to be honest. 

Aviso is a newly formed company from a merger of 3 established companies.  There are a lot of challenges with a merger and creating a new corporate culture. My experience has been a positive one in that people have been helpful and have worked together to bring in new processes and also work to modify them as well as time passes.  I have also had a good laugh with people in the company and they are bright and friendly.  I think that things will continue to grow in this company and if you are open to change then it is a great place to be.

Aviso Wealth is filled with great people and TONS of room to grow and move forward. I've never seen or felt such a sense presence of education and amazing work ethic. Of course we don't always want to be working but here i truly see the best of both worlds. To study now and work as had as possible defiantly has it rewards.

Management is a joke. Supervisors harass the team mates. HR emplyees who are friends with Supervisors and Managers don't listen to your complaints which is unethical.
No performance reviews are held by lazy supervisors. If they like you, you are privileged. If you speak up, you are on their hitlist. It's a joke of a company!
