Not going to lie it was kind of hard for me to walk away from this job after almost a year of working here I really loved the job the dock staff is amazing the supervisor are some of the best but the job can get very tough but they always appreciate the hard work almost monthly you can get Tim cards or other gift cards the pay is ok it’s not grate but the overtime policy is very good time and a half after 8 hours just about every day you will get about 15-30 minutes of overtime the health care benefits are also very good but at the time of righting this review they where changing health care companies so it may not be that grate anymore 3 paid personal days a year long weekends etc they do not have RSP match.

B&R Eckels was a awesome company to work for . They day for me was busy. Adding up drivers and dock guys hrs . Scanning to head office and emailing to payroll department. Coding hwy tickets for linehaul drivers,spiliting them and stamping the date on the tickets. All this had to be down by 10:00 am In between that i would anwser phone calls and take pick up calls for dispatch and email the dispatcher. Then i would enter deliveries for  liquor in there website and do billing . I also looked after interlines and collect charges.I would also have to collect proof of deliveries from other trucking companies.The co-workers were a great bunch of people to work with .

I was brought on as a class one truck driver with B&R and they did a lot to assure my comfort and happiness was met including providing me with prepaid fuel and grocery cards as well as accommodations as I was getting settled when I first started. During the slow days I was able to take online training to further my certifications while getting paid my full hourly wage. In my honest opinion the company and management went out of their way to assure my comfort and expectations were met. 

If your a great worker they will pay you well and advance you through the company to try and keep you happy. Usually work lots of overtime which can be great for the paycheck but takes a toll on your personal life. I have never worked in a place with so many unhappy people that seem to hate their jobs. Most of the work is pretty simple as long as you use your head and care a little bit about your job.

Used to be great company but not anymore. They used to have RRSP plan before but now they stop it because they can't afford it anymore. Used to make raises every 1 or 2 years but now no one has seen raise for the last 6 years. Supervisors live at their own world and whatever happens it's the drivers fault and not the training that they provide

I was there 5 years and i am surprised that on of the freight employees was not killed by fellow employees.  Safety was a joke that the management didnt take serious. Employees were not trained on equipment but were let to operate them. Management only came into play when equipment was damaged and they would lose their bonus.

i would start my day by unloading  the trailer and sorting out the freight  then make my deliveries.  my supervisor was good to work with the work place was safety frist  and the hardest part of the job was unloading the freight and the most enjoyable part of the job was the customers

Would be a nice place to work if the driver's mechanics and managers got together and came up with the plan to serve as trucks on time.
Most of the trucks are in good shape. Some have issues none Have fridges for long haul. Or for overnight trips.

Generally an easy going place to work. Pay is OK but benefits are great.  Hard to move up from whatever position you're hired in as many employees are lifers.
