The work was fairly easy, you could take your time to complete daily tasks. There are 3 breaks. 2 coffee breaks which are paid, and 1, unpaid, lunch, that gives you lots of time to sit and relax for a few. It's a good job for leaving work at work and not thinking about it while at home. 
The biggest problem would be the lack of communication from management to staff. Many days the manager would walk into the office shut the door and spend the day in there. As staff we never knew what was going on until the last minute. The manager does not help with tasks even when we fall behind or need to take breaks. The schedules are done sometimes weeks in advance and other times days before. It is rare to get days off in a row most times they're scattered from week to week. The sechedule is 7 days per week and doesn't rotate weekends off like sometimes management says. The hours aren't bad as it's not too early of a start and closing shifts aren't too late which is a bonus. There is an opportunity for a raise after 1-1.5 years though some employees have gone many many years without one, just keep in mind you will have to ask for one. Starting wage is around $11.50. You won't be included in the union and won't be eligible for a benefits program, if you work 40 hours your contract will be for 32-40 hours so your benefits won't kick in.

I was terminated without cause BESIDE MY CAR. So much for treating an employee that "everyone loves working with" with common decency. 

Management does not have any cohesive plans, nor are they communicated in a normal fashion. Management will ask you to think outside the box and to have creative answers, only to admonish you for attempting to do so with the good old' phrase, "You just don't understand" without EVER explaining what "you don't understand" in the first place. That, or they will straight-up plaigairise your work and call it their own. Be prepared to feel like you're running in a hamster wheel with very angry, incompetent bees. 

YOU WILL NOT FIND personal development, healthy work-life balance, healthy attitudes, leadership, or competitive edge by working for these people.  

I highly recommend that you avoid this place at all costs. They are not interested in benchmarking to any sort of industry-standard, 1-3 person departments usually self-destruct rather than support each other. You will be eaten up and spat out before some of the original staff passes away from natural causes, and I sincerely wish that that was a joke.

Wasted five years of dedicated loyal service to this company. The last 16 months was a nightmare working under new senior managers was extremely stressful. They treated me with complete contempt ignored my knowledge and experience. The Executive Management are too busy congratulating each other on doing wonderful jobs to take any interest in what was happening at the shop floor level and how good people were being treated and bullied into agreeing certain terms and conditions.Some great people have left recently due to certain management. I really enjoyed working for this company for the first few years however now it is a truly terrible working environment.
The Senior Managers lied to me and made assurances that when it mattered where not forthcoming- l guess they were too busy touring Europe at the company’s expense!
They do not care whatsoever about your health and well-being- they only care about feathering their on nests- this is now a toxic work place, do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs.

Monday to Friday work, Morning and afternoon shift,  with some OT on Saturdays if busy, There are no raises for 7 years, as per Union signed contract without input from employees, No benifits, Stat pay over percentage in a  year, so no stat pay as per one lump sum each stat holiday, Very favoritisim with certain employees, No support from Union, facial scan on time clock, work conditions are medicore with old falling apart equipment that needs serious updates and maintenence, Upper management more worried about product numbers than quality,  Very High Turnover, new hires just thrown into the job without proper training, Longer term employess expected to train and help new Employees with no compensation or reconigition,  Not really worth it to apply there, go elsewhere and get benifits and raises,

Was hired as a forklift driver. Took over a month to finally get trained for the position. Worked on the production line which was disgustingly awful. Finally thrown into the forklift position, trainer was awesome but only received a day training in some areas (there are many) and was repeatedly badgered by management while trying to perform duties. Computer systems make it really hard to do the job properly and management doesn't seem to care to fix. Extremely stressful. Was terminated because I missed days during probation due to a family emergency and wasn't even given an explanation.
Optional (mandatory) Saturday/Sunday shifts.
This place is the worst job experience I've ever had.
Talking smack about how bad this company sucks with fellow employees was the best part of the job.
No benefits whatsoever.

I worked at the tasting room for 1 summer. It’s a very easy going job with very little stress. It can get busy which was difficult to moderate with capacity restrictions from Covid, especially in such a small space.
Management treated me well and would listen to my concerns and check in regularly. I worked independently most of the time which I enjoyed. You get 1 free litre of cider per week which was a nice perk. The only things I did not enjoy about working there was how some days there was absolutely nothing to do even after doing all your side work. I also worked with several staff that should not have continued to work there for various reasons such as being very rude to customers or giving incorrect information about procedures or the products. This made my job more difficult.
Overall a good summer job 

One of the worst places I have ever worked. There is zero leadership and management dumps on its workers continuously. Management is very much like a chicken running around with its head cut off. There is no work life balance as they refuse to give anyone more than a days notice of what shift they are working. And even when they do issue the schedule they have the bad habit of changing it shortly there after. So no hope of ever being able to make any kind of appointment outside of work hours. And there are no sick/personal days to help deal with that. Also there isn’t much in the way of benefits And those that they do have aren’t easy to qualify for and take for ever to kick in. Pay is horrible for both production and maintenance employees. Best to avoid if possible

BC Tree Fruits is a great place to have a career. The safety environment is ever improving and this past year the company won 2 safety awards. The culture is a fast change from when I first started with the company 5 years ago. It is supportive, encouraging, and overall a family vibe. Sure there are hectic times yet the entire team puts their heads together and comes up with solutions to make the day a success. There is a reasonable home life work life balance( sift fruit season can be more work at times). There is always something interesting to learn about the company and the different departments. 

The people in charge of this company have no clue what they are doing. They keep replacing the CEO which has led to many good people to leave  the company. Each time a new CEO comes in that person wants to put their own stamp on how the company should be run. Not having stability in the leadership position created an environment in which other senior management couldn't do their work in the right way and then one after the other they left the company. This then caused a domino effect to the levels below the management level with many other good employees leaving as well. Needless to say that morale with the remaining staff is not good.

Worked as a store clerk for above minimum wage.  Learned a lot about the fruit industry in the Okanagan in the 2 years I was employed and about the retail side of things.  Very busy place with a lot of great customers.  Schedules were very flexible while I was going to school and management was willing to work around my classes and other commitments.  A lot of weekend work, but that’s retail, and manager was great for giving days off when requested in advance.
