N/A 
I cannot remember anything. When you are following rules, working responsibly, and enjoying customer service, there is nothing to worry about.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
There is the best work environment and culture that I wish should be in every company. All workers are trained, professional, kind and polite. 


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Starting shift, signing at customer service, receiving recent upgrades (work starters) and the plans for the day, and then going to work.

Years to get regular work, expectation is 100% availability regardless- not informed how to limit your hours, on job training isn't standardized.  2nd job  will likely be needed, and grounds for a write up when schedules conflict. Suggestion is you resign if you can't meet availability expectations, even though any other employer would be decent enough to lay you off. 
Staff is great, old timers are proud of surviving ridiculous conditions of employment and seemingly not interested in(or informed of) ways to help new hires limit availability for a second job. Collective agreement took months to receive, offers little protection for newbies. Better off reading managers manual to find actual policy/procedure options for employees, no guarantee the manager has read it though.

Excellent benefits including pension plan and a strong recognition of the importance of a strong work/life balance.

Schedules are based on a rotation that varies from location to location. In other words, days off change.

Environment and culture varies from store to store, but in general terms, it’s a positive work experience.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Lots of customer and staff interaction as well as merchandising projects.

Virtue signaling is commonplace

Junior management enjoys talking to you for hours and then complain to senior management that you talk too much

Gossip is encouraged, followed by "non-discipline" advisory boards that can recommend disciplinary actions

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I would rather have multiple root canals

Pay is decent especially considering the barrier to entry, but not something to do long term. Poorly represented by the governmental union, the BCGEU, so a bunch of inefficiencies and lousy features of the job that never get addressed (for instance 9 hour shifts with no overtime, 80% of staff being "auxiliary.") Managers will tell you to sell alcohol to clearly drunk or high customers and if something was to happen to them later that night you're legally liable for it. Surprisingly hard on your body long term. Work environment was ok apart from that.

During my tenure at BCLDB I’ve had many great experiences with both coworkers, and management. 
I’ve been very open with everyone in my workplace and have shown tons of respect to those who have been in my position prior. Respect and trust is easily gained in the LDB, and above all they acknowledge the hard work you put in on a daily basis, which significantly improves the moral of the warehouse. 
Overall it’s a great place to work, and the benefits that come with the job are simply amazing especially.

I feel like the answer to the question is work life balance.

Managers who think they’re working in the private sector.

It is most definitely ever changing.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
So much tapping in and out of places, then I go home.

Ive worked in several corners of this fascinating industry and its been my pleasure still is.  I guess if I ever start disliking my job I'll leave till then its my pleasure to have had the opportunity to wear many hats.


Brand new call centre so they seem to be guessing and testing as they go.  People are amazing, friendly and happy to be there.  However, work load is extremely low.  if you're looking to work and advance, maybe not a place.  Will have to see as it is only 10 months old.

Zero recognition zero support as an excluded manager you are treated like dirt while union employees can do literally anything..or nothing with no consequences. Absolutely a trash organization. Rotten right from the top to the core.
