BD Diesel Performance

Completed 2 coop terms here, and loved it so much I came back for my 3rd. The engineering department has excellent leaders who teach new coops very well, and they don't expect you to know everything like some other companies. 

Benefits are non-existent for coops but very nice for full-time employees, pay for coops is pretty decent. After each new product is released, the department will go for either a lunch or a snack based on the product launch size (larger project releases get lunch, smaller ones get treats). Most employees in the higher up positions are very friendly and Christian is an excellent CEO who truly understands his company. 

Those who can't do are supervisors, or lead hands, and micromange because they have no idea what your job is or entails.  Since the new management came in, after the son took over, morale is at an all time low and the turn over is high!!  They have been trying to get people to say on video how great it is to work there and are getting declined.  Report record sales but at review time you can get 0 to 50 cents...not even cost of living.  New management implemented  Lean so you have to account for every minute of your day.  It is now quantity over quality...you want good product you will not get it here.  If you have a good morale code, put quality first and value customer satisfaction then this IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU!!!  DO NOT WORK HERE!!!

The environment is very welcoming. Some delays experienced in process and function but constantly being recognized and corrected. Very progressive mindset is apparent from executive management. Mid-management is very receptive to change and progression also. 
Hugely collaborative work place on both a management and team member level. 
Most of the workforce is receptive to change and improvement. 
ERP is a struggle, feels rushed on the role out. 

Overall, great setting of growth and improvement on a daily basis.

Working in the engineering department has been very rewarding. Lots of collaboration, learning from each other, problem solving and there is usually someone there to lend a hand when you get stuck on a problem. I enjoy the company of my coworkers and we get along well. If you are the sort of person who says "not my job" then look elsewhere, but if you like taking on responsibility, learning new skills to tackle challenges, like staying busy at work and enjoy problem solving then this is the place for you!

if you enjoy working and learning about how Diesel engines and transmissions are changed for performance this is the place. we boast ourselves as a leader in this field. our R&D department are always improving current products and advancing in new products. it is always great to be a part of the team. 

we are in the process of looking at global opportunities, learning of Kaizen, Kanban, 5'S, and other useful knowledge to increase oneself and build the company. 

for some, there can be challenges in the changes the company needs to do but, we all can adapt to these.

a day at work involved tearing down cores to warehouse to later be for rebuild and selling as product to customers. using machines such as glass bead and garnet blaster to clean parts. learning lots of things such as quality control, how to properly use and operate machines. the teams are collocated and in communication with each other. great environment to be working in. management is understanding and listens to employees with questions or concerns. i enjoyed most of the job was the people.

BD Diesel is an exciting place to work. There is a huge variety in the work performed as an engineer. It’s fast-paced with never a dull moment, be prepared to multitask! It is very rewarding to see new ideas become a successful product or production process. The R&D team is amazing, and everyone is extremely helpful and fun to work with. The teamwork, leadership and support is second to none. Most of the planning, prioritizing and goal setting for the R&D Department is done as a team. Highly recommended!

Always busy and working with great people and the time goes by fast during days .

My day changes day to day. Some days I will be on the computer working on a new CAD design, some days I am updating documents, and some days I am working on a truck all day. I love each day is different. I have learned so much through my peers above me. I really enjoy my team and how we work together to solve all of our problems. Overall I always leave the building proud of the work that I have done.

Was promised a raise at 3 months, when I hit 3 months they said what raise. When i went up in position they said what raise. when i said i'd quit they said oh yeah about that raise we will give you another 50 cents. Told the 2 bucks or i was leaving. Even after a 2 dollar raise i was still underpaid for my position. The employees are good if you click with them. The work is fairly enjoyable.  management docent care about you. so if you like being underpaid and lied to, then work here.
