BELL TECHNICAL

I love what i do at bell, installing fibe tv, internet, and phone services. its very rewarding to complete a complex task and get a customer in service. the largest fall back is the scheduling. that is the primary reason for leaving. you will be forced to work 6 days a week, but they wont tell you until 8:50 the night before your day off. there is nothing worse than hearing your work phone going off at 8:50 telling you to work 7:30 to 6:30, or 10 to 9 

they will also force you in same day. so as a new employee you get 3 days off per week. and only 1 guaranteed day off. they have until 9pm the night before to  call you in to work on your non guaranteed day.  but they can now call you in to work a 5 to 9 on your non guaranteed day. its just brutal. and management is not allowed to remove your shifts. so if you have children or appointments you'll only have 1 day to do all your commitments. and don't plan to ever have a weekend off

The training you receive is 30 in a class which seems very informative, but you don't learn the real job until you are put in a real world example. This is when you realize the training you received did not exactly prepare you. Most people quit within months of starting because it is incredibly stressful when you are faced with a situation you are unsure about and are unable to contact a manger to ask questions. It will also take you years of working every weekend saturday and sunday 8am-7pm to get off just 2 sundays every 2 months. Both of those sundays however are subject to be changed to a shift where you are required to work.

Bell tech solutions overall gave me lots of great work experience and helped me discover a field of work that i enjoy and can see my self doing for years to come. With that said the company has forgoten that its employees are people and not machines. They constantly force us in for not needed overtime in case of jobs rather than putting us on call. The company also refuse any time off no mater how long of a notice is given. And in some cases has refused sick days as a valid reason to miss work.

The job itself is fun, and fulfilling. I feel satisfied at the end of the day. Bell Canada I believe is a fake and phony representation of what a real company should be. I have never felt so discriminated against in my life. Women made lower wages as technician and are judged on a different scale. Bell claims they support metal health but have no intentions of helping their own employees with it.

My typical day at work is pretty interesting as i get to meet different people every day. When i started the job, my customer service skills were not that good but as of now i have improved that skill. Management is good, but the schedule is pretty unusual. I can not make any plans as of my current schedule.

Typical day at works is mainly:

Pick up company truck at garage
Head to customers house
do installation

do another job sometimes if there are any left.
bring the truck back to the shop
head home

90% of new hire quit for a reason, not fairly compensated for the amount of work you do. Fire valuable employees with 10+ years over silly comment.

There lucky Toronto oversaturated with electronic techs, silly safety practices to prevent people from suing them

I believe a typical day at work should consist of a fun and safe work environment, where work is enjoyed and not felt to be a task. I enjoy providing customers with great service and how management makes you feel once you complete a great job.

Bell Technical solution is one of the best place that I was enjoying working with, in fact many reasons I had the opportunity to continue with my education and it was a company that kept me on training every time a new update. It was a wonderful skills place to work with.

the job itself is exciting but the schedule in not. the schedule can be changed one day before. has to be willing to work. sometimes the weather can be challenging. you really have to love to job to stay.
