First of all BESTSELLER Canada is a Great place to work. It’s not perfect but overall it’s pretty good. 

It’s a super engaging environment in a thriving retail/wholesale enterprise. Your co-workers are all for the most part super nicer and fun. The new office space is STUNNING. There are many initiatives around workplace events that go above and beyond the standard corporate event. 

However the main issue is their lack of transparency from management. Having been elsewhere since, it has further solidified my opinion on this matter. Obviously being a Danish company there is a lot of trickle down politics but specifically their seems to be a lack of trust from management in it’s employees and it often results in a lot of confusion and unrest when decisions are taken internally. 

The other issue I had towards the end of my tenure was questionable additions. Specifically in my time, a very apparent toxic employee was brought in at a manager level and despite this nothing was done to curtail their irrational behaviour, seemingly because they had an “in” with certain people. Almost like they didn’t want to admit they had made mistakes. Also specifically in my time, someone with no relevant experience got hired into a role where I was basically already occupying most of its functions and was ready to take on. They were obviously not a fit and left within a few months. I also felt slighted, and while I was put up in another function, eventually when I got a chance to occupy the role I always desired, they cut my salary due to “no longer having someone report into me” (I had been a team lead). Didn’t realize my salary was contingent on how many people reported into me vs. The value/experience I bring. 

Benefits are good on the cusp of being great. Salary is below standard elsewhere in Montreal. You’ll have to grind and really advocate for yourself to earn what you deserve. 

While I went into detail in much of what was negative in my experience, there is much, much more that is positive. Culture wise, the vibes are very great. The people here, through any of their faults, are all amazing people. I would recommend BESTSELLER to anyone especially people who are positioned earlier in their career. 

You can grow but keep in mind the organization is flat. It won’t necessarily be quickly. However I think at the end of the day, BESTSELLER Canada is a fun, vibrant place to work.  You could do a lot worse (I would know).

Overall experience with people on team is great but manager really lacks communication, and respect with employees that they don’t relate to. Manager talks bad of it’s own employees in front of the rest of the team, and also about candidates they don’t like. Development/career plan is created, but not followed afterwards. Life/work balance is not on the table, the HO asks crazy deadlines and the impact that will have on the people that actually do the job to meet the standards is not taken in consideration. The energy really changes after the first time you disagree with someone on higher management. The president is a bit on the edge all the time, and you have to constantly watch where you stepping before proposing new stuff to the company, pretty closed minded people.

From my experience at least, if you’re there to work and do your job well, you can expect to have fun and build long lasting relationships with the people around you. 

Even if you fail it’s used as a coaching moment to train you and build you up. Everyone is super accommodating and you can count on having support from all those around you. 

They just want to see you succeed, the training you receive is phenomenal. 

Very stressful, worst management I have ever had (both store and district manager). The bonus is a so low and difficult to get it’s pathetic. You get micromanaged in everything and they expect you work like your life depends on it. They provide bare minimum but expect the best from you.

Excellent real estate sales representatives are neither born nor created by a company, a school or an individual. They become great sales representatives and develop their skills only when they find themselves in the right environment surrounded by the right people.

The job itself is pretty good, I love the product and the team is great, however upper management seems to think that giving you hours while basically making minimum wage is motivation to exceed sales targets, and they remind you of that A LOT. I ended up working way too hard for how much I made.

Individual own franchise Real Estate Company offering excellent sales support.  Monthly business meeting to bring us update and a lot of good opportunities for new developments and buildings units inventories for us to sell.

A young and dynamic cultured company with a flat hierarchy. Has very open culture,good salary and benefits and a lot of fun activities apart from daily work. You get to travel a lot during the job and people in the company are very helpful.

a lot more to do than described, you are responsible for anything that happens, even if you were on vacation. High expectations for sales even when clientele is not present, constantly running around, even when off shift you are contacted. VERY STRESSFUL JOB FOR NO REASON. NOT WORTH IT

Company favours Bestseller experience over outside sales experience. Promises of advancement, then no follow through even when meeting and surpassing sales budgets. New president is close minded and not open to new ideas.
