BODY BLITZ SPA

A typical day at the job is being understaffed and having the phones ring non stop. They will tell you in the interview process to just give two weeks notice if you need a day off but when you book a month and a half in advance they will deny it as there is not even enough staff to run without the mangers "helping" at the front desk and you cant trade shifts with anyone as again they are severely understaffed. You get one day of training to review and read the manual on your own with no one to help and then you are on your own. No formal training just get on out there at the front and have other new staff try to help you. The computers are slow and continuously freeze or the booking site acts up at least once every 30 minutes delaying you from servicing guests. You are a receptionist, coordinator, cashier, data collector, server, barista, cleaner, sales associate, skin care expert in one. Management does not communicate clearly and gives you no pointers or direction before going nuclear. Work place culture is just a bunch of kids stressed out. Zero team building and social events like they advertise.

The atmosphere was very team orientated and chill good vibes. Its a busy popular spa so be prepared to be busy though, some people in Toronto live and swear by Body Blitz so it felt nice to offer such a beloved service. Everyone was really friendly and always laughing, it was fun to be there. There was such a huge variety of different types of women who work there too, no cliques or cattyness.

Theres the usual perks of free access to waters, product/treatment discount, birthday gifts etc. There was always food/snacks/treats in the staffroom. In their employee of the month program everyone can write nice anonymous things about whoever they want all month, and put it in a box. Then mgmnt makes a wall poster out of them all at the end of the month to recognize everyone's nice things, and whoever received most gets a free product/treatment too. The winner rotated around all the staff pretty evenly too, there were no favourites/popular crew.

The Spa Management team are very professional and organized, and are always available to escalate an issue to. The spa team is very structured so there's lots of room to grow within.

I worked for the company for about 2 years (Covid occurred) and I have nothing but positive things to say. I felt so welcomed right from the start. The staff always happy and so helpful. The work pace is very very fast, phones always ringing, customers to check in, smoothies to be made and tours to be done. But that being said it’s all manageable and is expected at an award winning spa, as well as voted one of the top 25 spas in Canada. (And it’s in one of the busiest city’s). Management creates schedules and really listens to your availability, that being said staff does have the flexibility to change shifts with one another which was definitely nice. Customer were almost always pleasant which made the experience of working there that much better. Body Blitz has been the best place I’ve ever worked, and i have nothing but great things to say about it. The staff not only cares about providing a great service and experience to the guests, they also care about each other very deeply which is hard to find in a work place these days. They really do become a second family. 

I love Body Blitz! I used to come as a client and then when I needed a job, I immediately thought I'd love working here, and I did! The staff are wonderful, and they have a lovely clientele. The space is beautiful and the perks are amazing - I used to do the waters regularly and the experience never gets old. Whenever they're training new spa therapists, you get to have free treatments!

I started as part-time customer service at the front desk, and quickly became a key holder, then was given other duties, too. Body Blitz was always quick to reward my accomplishments and was very responsive as I shared ideas or suggestions over the years. Lots of the staff there have been around since the spa opened, I can understand why.

This is the only job that I've ever had, that I wish I was still at. It is a fast-paced yet relaxing environment, full of wonderful ladies, and wonderful guests. There is a lot of things to do during your shift to keep you busy, which is a fantastic way to make the time go by. There are many times where I would look at the clock and realize that my whole shift had gone by. If you were a self-starter in a hard worker, then this is the excellent place for you. Yes there are a lot of tasks that need to be done, but the management didn't excellent job getting me prepared for my placement. I can't say enough positive things about body Blitz and their environments that they've created.

The Idea of Body Blitz Spa is a wonderful notion, of women working with women to provide other women with a relaxing experience sounds ideal. However it is a company run but two wealthly successful sisters who pay minimum wage to their staff, provide no health benefits, cut christmas bonus`s this year: in turn creating an increasingly high turn over in staff.

They do not listen to the needs and the concerns of their staff who provide exceptional customer service, who go above and beyond their roles, and are the sole reasons the business is successful.

Do not work for this company if you are looking to get a head or make any money.

Typically a day at body blitz is very faced paced working with clients and other staff, answering phones and emails, making drinks, checking clients in and out. 
The hours are very consistent but require closing and weekend shifts.
The staff culture at body blitz is very welcoming and supportive most of the time. 
Working the front desk was a very good learning experience in customer service/administration.




I started working at Body Blitz as a part-time customer service representative and moved quickly to better positions within the company. The work is fast paced and there are multiple opportunities to learn new things. The staff working there is wonderful and supportive. I made lifelong friends and I remember my time there fondly. 

Working at an all women’s spa was a great experience. All staff members were were friendly and extremely helpful and welcoming to all new comers. It is a busy and top rated spa so as a therapist for the most part you will be booked and busy. 

The managers are decent but the owner is quite stingy with pay which is reflected on the high turnover rate. Many of my coworkers I've spoken to were all job searching while working there as they too were not satisfied with pay.
