An amazing place to work...a great balance between work and life, very respectable wage and benefits/pension.  Great team to work with in the Sarnia office.  I enjoyed going to work each and every day.  Unfortunately, budgets and work loads change within the economy, but definitely an experience and opportunity that I am thankful to have had the opportunity to have experienced and to be a part of such a fantastic team.

Unless you have an in, and know some people who can help you climb the ladder fast and easy, it probably isn't worth your time. Especially if you're a welding apprentice/Welder (without B Pressure).
It's a little easier no doubt if you just want your BM tickets, or are already a Boilermaker.
The people that get the best jobs are the ones with the best friends in the highest positions.
Just be wary.

great career if your single and dont have any responsibilities people do make it work but with the way the economy there is lots of travel time between jobs and very rare to work through the winters wage is very good along with the people who are on tools and in the office one of the better unions to have represent you

The boilermakers union gave me the opportunity to get both my boilermaker ticket and my j/welding ticket .This gave me the ability to earn an above average wage for most of my working career.

Started out good and then locals were forced to get double the members they had jobs for. Went 12 months with 6 weeks of work... Will never back! When there was no work, I got told there was nothing they could do, but I couldn't go work somewhere else

The pay is great and is always above $100,000 -$150,000 if you get the right jobs and work hard.  But alot of time on the road and away from family.  Great for the single guy.

Great place to work but not enuf work. Work is verry long hours, untill the job is done. I have nothing to complaine . Work is for different companys . And they are good companies to work for. When the push is on you get it done.

I had some experience with the boilermaker union.
It was so nice to me and save a lot of momeys.
While, there is not much jobs.
If I have a chance, I will always work with the boilermaker union.

enjoyed working with the boilermakers in the fabricationshops, moved from calgary to vancouver , this is why I left the boilermakers, I would go back to them once I move back to calgary.
