BOLT Offsite

Not a good place to work if you want to learn any practical construction knowledge. Everyone on the floor is treated as a general labourer and are not taught how to build. People who do have any type of skill are ignored and left to do mundane tasks. The only way you advance in the company is if you know as little as possible, so you can be told what to do, or if you're friends with someone in management. Good luck getting questions answered, you'll most likely have them deflected to someone else or ignored. If you like being a robot and told how to do anything then this place is for you.

It's a positive and encouraging work environment. They offer opportunities to learn and grow and are open to new ideas. The culture is mainly positive and most of the people seem to really care about what they do and who they work with. As with any organization there are challenges and struggles. Bolt seems to genuinely care about their employees and the team works together to find a resolution to the issues that arise.

Looking for instability? Not knowing if you're being promoted, hours cut or being laid off? Then this place is for you! Mickey mouse start up company. All staff are disgruntled because they are all treated like trash.  Only the select few friends in a miserable click are safe.

construction and production mixed together. too many bosses and few systems implemented. no concrete idea has been laid on. its like have faith on the projects that are coming. too much waste for materials. they should have figured out how to be efficient on spending resources. overall i would think this company is on its final stretch.

"Startup" company that still cant manage a project. They lay off good employees, then wonder why they cant finish a project. Little to no direction, with project management getting angry when a process takes too long to do right. Do yourself a favor and ignore the well written job post. Poor scheduling, and incompetence will be the end of this company

Good team leads and co-workers, useless management. Safety was an absolute joke, don’t know where they got the bozo who was the Safety Guy. No job security from week to week. Saw the beginning of the end when hearing tradespeople and suppliers not being paid. The owner would call staff meetings to say how great the future looks for Bolt. Glad I found another job, heard it went out business...

Coworkers i worked with spent way too much time gossiping and putting other people down behind their back. Incredibly toxic enviorment. I was bullied by the team lead and another coworker my first day on the job. I ended up quitting. Managment on the other hand incredibly professional and sincere really nice people.

Typical day was hit dead lines building walls and the exterior part of the building,  framing door RO's , building parapet walls on roof top of buildings as well as helping other crew teams catch up when behind

Pros: co-workers, floor supervisors, wage, annual BBQ, learn new skills, safety
Cons: communication, organization of work, no raise after 1 year, unsteady working hours

The whole environment is toxic. The guys on the floor don't care and the people upstairs don't know. The communication is worse than two dogs under water.the worst place I've ever worked and I'm 30 yrs old.
