Babies R Us

This is easily my favorite job I've had and has raised my standards for the type of life I want to live and the work culture I want to be involved in. I went in with no retail experience and no product knowledge but every single person I worked with at the store taught me so much that I'll carry with me for the rest of my life. The management are genuinely trustworthy people who focus on efficiency and healthy working environments, no pointing fingers, no shaming, just teaching and guiding. I always felt like the management had my back during difficult or unfamiliar situations and I was able to grow in the industry rapidly as a result. 

There was virtually no training for the job position, and as a baby associate I was expected to know quite a bit regarding strollers, breast pumps, car seats, cribs, play pens, etc. all of which I had to google and research myself because I was left completely alone in my department. Not only that but I would get scolded for trying to look for another employee that might know the answer to a customers question that I did not have as a very new person. Management was argumentative and combative every step of the way, there is absolutely no room for growth at this company.  DO NOT WORK HERE THERE IS A REASON THERE ADS ARE ALWAYS UP.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Everyone is great to work with . It was like an extended family. 
You were given product knowledge classes, so that you understood the product you were selling

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There wasn't.  Everyone helped each other out.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great, if you needed a day off that was not intended. Manager worked it out for you.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Enjoyable, happy, sometimes fast paced. Always tasks needed to be done.

Overall, pretty relaxed experience. One policy I don't agree with them having is having no phones on the floor especially when you might need to respond to something important such as a family member. The store can be dead for long periods of time but can also have short bursts of being very busy. Decent hours during the summer. However, anytime else expect an extreme lack of shifts such as less than six hours per week. With all this in mind, would recommend for students with busy schedules who want to work on the side.

Fun place to work.  Management was very caring and helpful.  Work mates were very willing to share their information and help me fit in.  Excellent staff...very kind and very accepting of an older person.  Loved every minute and hope to rejoin Babies Are Us in Burlington.  We just moved here from Ottawa...sadly they don't transfer so I will apply again.

I worked in the baby section and the customers are amazing and you learn so much about babies. It is a lot to learn but well worth it. Co workers at my location were amazing. It is retail and some days would drag on but if the hours were better I would have stayed. I only had 12 hours a week, sometimes more if I was lucky.

Other than selling warranty plans, the atmosphere was always fun and exciting. There is always something to do with the help of team work. I loved being able to talk about all the different baby products!

It was a fast going job with many opportunities to get yourself higher up. the hours were great and the benefits were amazing. the customers were a hardest part of the job. The managers where most of the time understanding

Lack of communication from management. Coworkers are great and the best part of this job. I ended up quitting because of management though. Great job for a teenager in school but you got to stick with it!

Merchandising and sales associate combined with customer service makes this a great place to work.
I work with great people and I get to see Babies all day.
