Banff Park Lodge

Fast-paced, isolated individual work. Support and understanding from fellow housekeepers forming friendships. Great staff throughout hotel. Selfish CEO management which reflects through managers and supervisors. This is expected of such a competitive and money-hungry line of business. Being able to work in the Rockies as a traveler on a working visa is very much a privilege and the people you meet along the way and experiences make this journey well worthwhile.

Unfortunately, my experience was not positive. Management often deflected responsibility rather than addressing challenges, and front-line employees received little support. Communication was poor, with unclear expectations and minimal feedback. Opportunities for growth were limited, turnover was extremely high, and the work environment felt hostile, discouraging and unstable."I hope leadership takes steps to improve accountability, support, and overall workplace culture."

Hotel work can be an adventure but be aware of the politics. Every day is a mine field to maintain your reputation. Gossip and two-faced backbiting are frequent tactics that middle managers use to get over perceived rivals. Keep your personal life to yourself as much as possible and don't expect the long standing employees to have your back. Especially if they see you dating a person in town they wish they could. In this case, expect rumors and interference into your personal relationships.

The Banff Park Lodge is a great place to work. Only things with the hotel restaurant dis that their is too many coupons coming trough the door and each one has it's own settlement code it gets to be a bit too much. The Management is friendly and always willing to help out and the co-workers are willing to go the extra mile for you.

Setting up the venue for the said event; carrying tables, chairs, plates, utensils and folded napkins. 
Taking notes if any of the guest have a certain allergy or request. 
Co workers are easy to work with and you can feel the welcome from them.
Serving plated dinners. 
Setting up the buffet.
Getting plates, utensils and table napkins after the event. 
Serving wine, coffee and tea if needed.

Employees are great but management is picked by who has the brownest nose. Very shady dealings going o especially about certain managers lying to AHS about certain cleaning procedures. False promises made to staff. And no benefits to working there.

Well-managed and good pay. The company is making effort to lead by example and properly reward employees. Benefits are expanding and HR is really good at created a fun workplace with events and activities every month. There is opportunity for growth and you can tell managers and upper are invested in our well-being.

We cleaned alone at night, two kitchens and two dinning rooms. 3 of us were left alone to complete the tasks in quiet relaxed trusted atmosphere. Things may have changed as this was some years back.

Great workplace, i enjoyed my time at banff park lodge immensely and would nearly guarantee ill be back. 
staff accommodation is exceptional, though i did find the HR department to be very inconsistent on their standards of cleanliness.

I loved working at BPL. Great staff there, such a great atmosphere. It was very easy for me to make friends and they also had cool staff outings as well. The staff housing was also great.
