Honestly speaking,  despite of the fact that I am adjusting the climate since I came from Asian country which is having a hot climate while Barchester Healthcare is located at a very cold place, I was able to adopt the environment and enjoyed doing my job.  I cared for an elderly or aging people there with dementia, NGT patient, and also psych ward, and etc.  I learned a lot from them knowing that each individual has its own attitude and with different health problem.  Besides, the staff also were very accommodating and willing to share their knowledge and expertise.  I felt that the hardest part of the job was when I was assigned to the patient who are resistant or shall I say violent.  However, if given time, space, comfort and understanding,  they became calm. Being a Nurse or Care Assistant,  patience, strength and courage, knowledge, skills and prayer  must be incorporated  and the weapon in  order to reach the goal of caring the patient.  The enjoyable moments were when the patient can recover fast and able to regain their health.



I previously worked for Barchester  and find most of these comments true,unfortunately.  I learned alot about human nature and valued all my experiences good and bad, with the residents.I was in a quandary for a long time before I left, as I became really fond of the residents. They had alot of wisdom,humour and dignity to impart, and I felt privileged to be part of their lives and to help them in however small a way. However,some staff and management eventually made it impossible for me to stay in that environment,as they were not on the same wavelength and shouldn't be in a care environment at all. Not all staff were like this,some were brilliant, but there were always the few who made work very hard. I will always value the insight I gained and the memories I have,but they are fond memories of the residents and not the work environment.

I learned a high standard way of care for elderly they provide all nessesary mandatury training,most ducumrnt in approite detail statement for securityreason in future,i also learn a resedent safety in all aspect,i injoy most of my role of giving bath or shower to my resedent and grooming,i enjoy chating with my resedent that can make them happy,i have a good communication with my ko worker,and we have a good team work at all time during performing daily task,my name is gina,i work as care assistant in barchester for over 5 yrs ,ive enjoy my job.

I worked 12 hour night-shifts which were difficult at times, and was offered alternative shift patterns when this was problematic due to personal problems for a time. A tight-knit community of colleagues in providing quality care to our residents. The hardest part of the job was the emotional and physical demands. It is at times draining to have some many dependent upon you and I think at times resources are stretched - that being said I enjoyed my time working with Barchester. There were also opportunities for advancement.

Started my management career in 2010 with Barchester Healthcare. After 4 years I decided to gain experience with other providers. When deciding to return to the West Country last year Barchester was the only provider I would choose. Caring, supportive, passionate, responsible…I could go on. If you want to work for a provider who ensures your residents & staff are equally appreciated & cared for then Barchester Healthcare are the only choice! 

I have been working in a nursing home for Barchester Healthcare, and have enjoyed working with the company. Barchester has shown clear vision of promoting health and wellbeing of people in our care and providing appreciation and recognition of the hardworking and dedicated members of staff working within the company at every step of the way.

Barchester Healthcare is one of the biggest halthcare provider in London UK.Lots of room for growth opportunities,learning, and personal development are given to staff. A great company to work for.

Head of departments talking about taking drugs when off work but discussing this in front of clients.
No support which means residents go without.issues raised nothing done.

barchester is the company which provide me everything as a carer. they give me proper trainings which helps me to become a good carer.. i took a break from their because of personel issues.hopefully i can come as soon as possible

Lovely environment, great staff and beautiful surrounding with awesome facilities for staff to engage with residents . I would of loved to continue my employed but a change in my curcumstance I had to move areas .
