Worked here for maybe 2 summers as a backshop attendant. First summer was okay because obviously it was my first year. People were great, staff were friendly. As I kept working there through the summer I realized how you get paid so little to pick up after other people’s mistakes as well as ungrateful/rude members. The other backshop workers were mostly amazing some would just sit there and watch others work but other than that they were fun to be around. Not only that Management were all horrible at their jobs, never help when they saw these young kids struggling, some of the proshop staff were just rude and weird. Especially the proshop staff were just disgusting, did not help with anything in the backshop even when we were struggling and just sat on their a**es all day doing nothing but drinking beer and socializing with other members. I would say more but it’s just not worth my time. Not sure why I went back for another year. 

Bayview staff are really nice, but there is no proper system. I would say there is a poor management and lack of communication in the club. Working here helped me learn a lot, I gained more knowledge and experience but that was not enough to be a satisfied employee. As someone who has a higher position, they expect you to act like a server as well, in this case the actual role suffers. It's not fair for a supervisor to work as server because first of all that is that is not their job. They should be supervising and/or looking over the overall operation.
Another down side working here is they prefer to under staff most of the time especially during events -- the service suffers due to lack of staffing; staff are burned out in the end of the day.

I was responsible for all aspects of food planning, production, and service.  
Multiple outlets including club dining, on course refreshments, sports lounge, and banquets.  
Year round venues including private events, conference services, members galas, cooking classes, and themed evenings.
Member activities including golf, tennis, curling, fitness, and spa services.

The Bayview is a great place to work and a great place to further your career. But having the union in the place is not always for the employees benefit. Because it is so seasonal not many actually get full time status with the union. Which leaves us without benefits or any job security. Management was wonderful and respectful. Clientele challenged you to progress as a professional.

I would say that Bayview Golf was a nice place to work. . Everybody were doing. They appreciate you when you do good. And everybody will know it. When were busy everybody cooperate.

Being a server rakes in commission so it's not too bad. Lots of friendly coworkers. Management sometimes prioritizes customers over its employees a little too much and we (employees) end up drawing the short straw.

A typical day at work is as follows: Greet and welcome students and parents. Take the kids onto the court and have them take part in a small warm up activity. Then they will learn basic tennis skills which are utilized in particular activities and games.

Working at Bayview Golf and Country Club has been an outstanding experience. The staff are incredibly kind and supportive, and the fitness members are extremely dedicated to improving their health.

Great place to work if you're passionate about hospitality and customer service. Staff is friendly and management is great, great place for students looking for work.

Have to get up at 5AM in the morning to start at 6AM in most days. Physically demanding for outdoor work in Spring, Summer and Fall seasons. Need to learn to operate machines.
