I was a janitor and a laborer. Janitorial is amazing but laboring sucks big time. The vehicles shouldn't be on the road at all, management and dispatch are a joke and throw a lot of responsibilities on the worker when it's their job to do so. Also you get treated poorly on every job that you go to because of the reputation. You aren't paid fairly at all for how long your days are and how dangerous the job is. Safety is a joke just like their vehicles.

They have their favorites and if you aren't one of them good luck getting hours at all or any weekends if you miss one day during the week. The workplace culture is super toxic and takes a tole on your mental health. They will also threaten to make you pay for your accommodations over the weekend if you don't work. Management is cheap and don't listen to any concerns that you have, it just goes out one ear and out the other. Also the whole fleet should be pulled off the road of how unsafe they are, I don't know how teck honestly let's them on site. It was honestly embarrassing showing up to work in beat up and rusted out Chevy's while everyone else shows up in decent work trucks.

My advice for anyone is stay away from this company if you value your health, safety and sanity.


Nothing is perfect but you could do a whole lot worse than working for this company. They try to be as fair and accommodating as possible. The work I do is very physical if you are lazy don’t bother applying with this company, they really need people who take pride in their work ethic and are very dependable it will be noticed and rewarded. Don’t go into the interview and promise to be dependable and be a good worker and blow smoke just to get hired be honest it won’t take long for them to see if you were truthful in the interview and that will be on you, don’t waste their time and the employees you will be working with. It’s a really fair company for the most part like I said you are never going to find the perfect job but you could do a whole lot worse than joining this company.

This company is total garbage. Safety is a complete joke. Management will tell you whatever lie you want to hear.
Almost all problems are caused by dispatch and their incompetence and lazy antics and zero planning zero organization zero communication combined with rush and panic.
Their tactic of hire anyone who walks through the front doors is not working and one of the main reasons why this company is a steaming pile of. They constantly expect the few good workers to make this company look good just so they don't have have to do anything.
I don't recommend this company for any hard worker it is a job only for losers who can't grow up past the high school phase of life.

I would go o work and find out what mine i would be working at that day and drive a truck loead of crew members with you and head to the job site. work 10-14 hours a day then drive back homw. my co workers were great and fun to work with, day went by really fast and really enjoyed that kind of work. loved not knowing what job or where i was going that day. I work really hard and love learning new things. very long hours and alot of days in a row but loved it and would do it anytime. I loved working with different people everyday and love meeting new people.

If your goal is to get into the mining industry with no experience, this is where you'd want to start. If you're planning to take up a trade and unsure what you want to do, it's the perfect job to see first hand of what a wide variety of trade persons do on a daily basis. Do not make a career out of this job as the living conditions are horrible, and will take a tole on you. Take it for what it is and leave as soon as a new opportunity comes your way

This company does not offer layoffs as work slows down, always have a backup plan

Banking time, make your own schedule if wanted

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No choice on tasks. U get comfortable in a position and they move u.  VERY clicky.  Don't voice concerns because you'll become the enemy. Lots of little girls in charge

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Clicky.  If u don't fit right away, you never will and they will send u to the worst jobs

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Depends on the task.  It's a 12 hour gig.

Best place i ever had a chance to work. Unbelievably good guidance from supervisors, high expectations when it comes to completion of jobs or daily work routine, endless demand for work or at least when i was working for them it was endless. Gratitude when a job was done the way it was expected from dispatch and along with exceptional communication and safety in the work place. 

You make your own schedule, work as much or as little as you want. If you’re reliable and work hard, you can move up quickly. The work can be really dirty at times, but it’s not that bad. You can make decent money if you put some
Time in. It gets bad reviews but it honestly is what you make it. 
You learn a lot about mining and get to do different jobs all the time 

You dont get benefits even though they offer it, they find a way to get out of it. 
They have favourites, and if they don't like you as a person (even though you're one of the hardest working employees) you get treated like you're not worth anything.
3 years and NEVER got a raise, even though id watch new hires get raises.

So far so good on my end. Lots of great coworkers. Definitely a good stepping stone if you wanna work with Teck( soon to be Glencore). It is a hit or miss with the trucks however, sometimes you get to drive the "good" ones and sometimes the "bad" ones. Other than that, I am still content.
