Overall a decent place to start as a nurse or someone interest in the nursing aesthetic industry. The company does train you for free on all the different machines and procedures and you go through good informative training. (Although the training is unpaid)Although the work environment itself is not too bad either but lacks organization. It is somewhat chaotic at times with client scheduling and you’re never sure what your assignment is for the day as it is constantly switching up. The scheduling for nurses is very inconsistent and there are times you do not know what your work schedule is until a few days before. You also do not know your work time for the next day until later in the day. So it is difficult to have flexibility in that sense. Also break times are very short considering you can work up to 11 hours in a day (only half hour for the whole day). They make you pay $250 for the uniform out of pocket as well. There is minimal room for growth as you need to learn all the procedures and get approval from the boss in order to get a raise so it takes a very long time. The work itself is not too difficult and is an easy job in itself with not too much demand or pressure. There is a also a great deal of micromanaging and constantly being under watch in all circumstances. Overall not a bad company to work for but there are not many incentives. At most nurses get 50% off treatments (same as client promos at times).

Honestly, the best part of working at Bellair Laser Clinic for the past 5 years has been the experience and growth. It’s a very fast-paced environment, so you’re constantly learning, building your skills, and meeting new clients every day. I also love that no two days are ever the same, it keeps the job exciting and has helped me grow both professionally and personally.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
One of the most stressful parts can definitely be how fast-paced and busy the clinic gets, especially during peak seasons. You have to be able to multitask, manage your time well, and stay organized while still making every client feel comfortable and cared for. It can be demanding at times, but it also teaches you how to work efficiently under pressure

Because it’s such a busy clinic, everyone has to work together and support one another to keep things running smoothly. The culture pushes you to grow, stay knowledgeable, and build strong client relationships, which makes it a great place to gain experience and improve your skills. It honestly feels like one big family. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You’re seeing clients throughout the day, assisting with treatments, consultations, charting, and making sure clients feel comfortable and taken care of. There’s always something to do, so the days go by quickly.

Working for Bellair Laser Clinic has given me the knowledge and skills to work in the medical esthetic industry. They have always provided excellent training to ensure that nurses are effective and thorough with treatments. Work hours are long however it is just like your usual 12h nursing shift; which is a good thing if you're looking for stability. Nurses continue to work alongside with each other and you definitely have the support from the team should you need it. Not only has working with Bellair widened my knowledge/skillset it has also allowed to improve on interpersonal and management skills. During this time of uncertainty, I cannot be happier working for this company because they have always been transparent and helpful in times of need. When the news broke out, they made sure to answer all our questions and kept us in the loop. In fact, in order to ensure that no staff would be in hot water, the company has generously provided additional means to help keep all of the staff afloat (on top of what we are already getting paid). Words can't express how thankful and grateful I am working for Bellair, definitely a nurse's dream to have such an employer.

No job security, no compensation, low pay. Don't expect to get a raise even if you've been there after a year or two (or even have experience in the industry). Micro managing exists here. Nurses constantly being monitored. There is no room for growth. Turnover rate is really high. If you do not comply with the owner's wishes, you will be fired!! They have laid off nurses and other staff for irrational excuses, but then hired multiple afterwards. New nurses unaware of what's to come for them...They offered free training before but now you have to sign a consent and pay. Training is informal, there is no in-class lecture, no certificate, no books, nothing. There are other companies that will provide you with better opportunities of growth and compensation (Believe me on this). Was told by many of the senior nurses that all of the positive reviews here are not true.

The owner and managers are approachable, respectful, and supportive to employees. They communicate clearly and try to maintain a positive and organized work environment. I appreciate how management is understanding and helpful when staff need assistance.

I have not experienced any major stressful issues so far. The work environment has been manageable and organized.

The company has a positive and welcoming culture. Management and staff communicate well and create a comfortable workplace.

Most days are productive and organized. I complete cleaning tasks, maintain cleanliness standards, and help keep the environment comfortable for staff and clients.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not much actually. Everything is manageable. But sometimes when  there is an interruption of the treatment and you are running out of tine to fix it and next client is waiting.

And stressful when sometumes getting 2 days shift in a week

A typical day at work would include me setting up treatment rooms, performing assigned tasks, doing the laundry, taking out the garbage at the end of the  day and closing rooms.  I then perform on clients throughout the day. I also do laundry throughout the day. I also put together gift bags. I learned how to multitask at a faster pace, I learned how to perform plenty of different procedures on clients. I also learned about the science about machines and treatments. The management team is accommodating and very kind. The workplace culture is flexible, structured and organized. The hardest part of the job would be having to perform in clients at a fast pace The most enjoyable part of the job would be getting hands on experience. 

Interview is easy. Training is unpaid. You are only granted one 30 minute break (does not matter if you are scheduled to work 11 or 8 hours). Expect to be scheduled 11 hours x4-5 days in a row with one day off in-between. It is a good place to start if you are new and inexperienced in Aesthetics/Cosmetics. You receive training in many different treatments which is great. Nurses get along with one another. Increase in salary is a very slow process (RN and RPNs are paid the same starting rate). Non-unionized. Cameras in hallways so you are constantly being monitored by the owner. Can be busy as treatments are scheduled so close together that you rarely have time to take a minute or two for bathroom break.

Bellair Laser Clinic is known as one of the best companies in the beauty industry here in Toronto. The hiring and training process was done in a timely manner. I'm glad I'm part of a company that not only offers flexible working hours but gives me a lot of opportunities to learn and grow as a professional. They treat their staff as a family, pay us fairly and give bonuses in addition. 
This company not only provides the best quality care to our clients but also to their staff. The bonus point is that everyone is very helpful and provides a positive working environment. Being a part of someone who felt good about themselves after seeing great results from the treatments is so rewarding. I am so happy to be working here!
