Pros
You get to learn about the company, the work that is done, and what scientific research tax credits are. You can learn about the calculations involved, the criteria, the technical write up, and how it all comes together. Pay is ok and coworkers know your pain and willing to lend an ear. 

Cons
Very little benefits that start much later. If you managed to get benefits by that time, congratulations. Management will not hesitate to throw you under the bus. Management is a mess and there are no processes in place. It's basically trial and error and get yelled at. You're always in the wrong and management is always right. Everything and everywhere is monitored or tracked so privacy is a barely existent. Management is very paranoid so accesses to anything is severely limited and update to your accesses can take weeks and will always be your fault that you don't have it. The management culture feels very smiteful as well based on its history and relationships.

Pros
Great learning opportunities. Everybody is very helpful and friendly. A strong and very capable team.  Company is growing and evolving with the current times.  Fantastic for work-life balance. Working downtown is great.

Cons
As a company in a current state of fast-paced growth, you often have to take on roles out of your normal comfort zone.

Very closed knit team of professionals that bring different levels of experience that really help the sales process and managing existing clients.

Ongoing training and support from the entire team to help you achieve your targets.

Business model is very interesting.  Technical writing projects are assigned to independent contractors.  The projects are engaging and expose the contractor to very interesting technologies.  The opportunity to learn about new technologies is particularly valuable.

I was fortunate enough to have the ability to engage with all the departments in the company to have an understanding how to put the business interests ahead of principal positions.

Loved working here. Learned a lot, made friends, was paid well. Not a lot to complain about. Small company so you have to be low maintenance.

CEO is aggressive and rude
There are more directors then consultants
Poor salary base and devious commissons
Do yourself a favor and look the other way

Flexible hours as long as the task is complete/report is complete. I telecommute and love the flexibility it gives me. I recommend Benefact to anyone interested in SR&ED

I didn't work here long and unfortunately the time that I did, I didn't enjoy. I was hired as the Office Manager but my duties did not relate. The organization was very mismanaged.
