I started out doing local hauls with these guys. The hours were long but there was a job to do and the rest of the local guys were great to work with. Then I got put on the highway and it is very hard to make any money getting paid by the mile when you are literally in the middle of the mountain range. 
Unfortunately I needed to move back to Alberta and they did offer me employment based out of where I lived but I needed to find other work to make a little more money. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who has lived in the valley for a while. 

Berry and Smith is a great place to work, the staff for the most part all get along, they are well respected in the community and have a lot of long term employees.  There are different opportunities to get ahead at the company and the profit sharing checks are typically very generous right before Christmas time.  They have a good benefit plan, owners and managers are easy to talk to, and great people in every department.   Like any place of business not everyone is a great fit but typically most people enjoy the atmosphere and are generally happy to be at work.  (as much as one can be at work)

Berry & Smith Trucking is a well run, family owned business that treats its employees fairly and compensates well. 
As long as a fast paced, somewhat stressful environment meets one's needs, this is an excellent place to work.
Profit sharing helps ensure teamwork to the end result.
The people are the best part of the workplace, the inherent danger on the roads that can negatively impact the lives of the drivers was always a major concern.

Good company to work for 
Being a regional hauling freight company the miles were poor
The freight customers were good to work with
The trailers dry box were good except the brake pads were
worn out on a lot of the trailer I pulled.
Dispatch was good and they know there stuff
Great management team open door policy.
Paid by PC miller so you will lose 10% of your mileage every month.
To get 10,000 miles in a month you had to stay out for the whole month at least I had too.
I only overaged 8,000 to 9,0000 a month.
They have a high turnover of owner/ops every year.

Staff and management are great.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Driving in traffic and keeping on schedule.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Good, respectful and helpful co-workers and supervisors.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Operate a bus in a professional manner. Pick up and drop off customers while adhering to the route and schedule. Fuel the bus at the end of the shift.

Toxic work environment. Undervalued and under paid. Management has no people skills and at times very disrespectful and belittling. Shop is old and no room for the amount of work and mechanics needed. You will be working outside. Taking time off is difficult and comes with conditions. Mechanics are not trusted to do their job and are constantly bird dogged and are forced to do the job by the shop manager way. 

I was there for one and half year .somehow I had preventable incident in end of November which is my fault so I got dismissed by the company .iam really regretted  .but overroll  good company to work

Berry and Smith is a fantastic place to work. The people were amazing, I enjoyed my position, and the benefits were fantastic! I was sad to leave my role there, and enjoyed my time working for them.

Everyday learning. If you love to travel. It's a great place to work.  The hard parts are long hours. Not for a family person. I enjoy the Christmas parties. Great Managers.  I learned that there is truely a great trucking company out there. 

Owners are great to work for, dispatch team not so much all they care about is the next load. Too many hot heads. Operations manager is a complete tool!!

If you quit they take it personally and treat you like  garbage until your last day.
