What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Watching all the entitled, lazy undeserving people get promotions they don't deserve, work the hours they want to work, and completely disrespect a company that continously caters to them.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment needs a lot of of work but they fail to listen to those around them that have experience. The culture is deplorable and the higher management refuses to think otherwise simply cuz they don't want to listen to feed back and are so far removed from the floor to even understand what the situation is. They also allow the top end of the maintenance department to be abusive to just about everyone in the plant without real consequence as they do not preform proper investigation when it comes to people in "the family". The upper management seems to want to micro manage just about everything but once again caters to individuals at the top of specific departments such as Quality, Mixing and Health and Safety.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A lot of asking for clarification all day, and asking where the materials are to preform or tasks

Don't listen to the haters! Black Fly is a great place to work. The proof is in the pudding: very little people leave the company of their own free will. The problem with review sites  like this is that people don't take the time to write good reviews, but will got out of their way to thrash a company if they had a bad experience. Sometimes these bad experiences are warranted due to poor attitude and/or performance. This is not representative of the actual average experience.

The pay is well above market; they do this to in order to retain the best people. The benefits are better than average: day off for birthday, free case per month, big social events at least twice per year, profit sharing, skills training, free boots, free work glasses, high-five program, etc. The work environment is clean and safe. There hasn't been any lost downtime to injury in over 10 years. And most importantly, the people are friendly and approachable. It doesn't mean that everyone is best friends, but respect is super important in the workplace. Every crew gets a free lunch of their choice every month paid for by the company. 3 weeks of vacation to start with 5 days of personal time. Good O/T rules. I can go on...

Just like any fast growing company, nothing is perfect, but the managers/owners actually care what people think and every voice can be heard.

Learned that if you work hard, don't complain and show up, more often than not you are fast tracked for success (if you want it).  Also learned that if you whine, are negative, you have nothing to really look forward to.  

I don't see the managers too often, but it seems like they are doing something right as the business continues to grow year after year and the majority of us really enjoy coming to work each day.

Culture is pretty good overall.  Good diverse group of staff in all levels.  Sure, there are a couple of bad eggs, but no place is perfect.

Nothing really difficult about the day to day jobs.  Getting caught up listening to the negative 1% can be the only challenge.  Change is more often than not slow to happen and should happen quicker at times.

The most enjoyable aspect of this job are the people and the culture.

Day to day was stressful, unorganized and cluttered. I did learn some valuable skills. There is a major wage discrepancy within job duties and responsibility. Trying to give advice on how to make the job more efficient or safe was disregarded entirely by management. The supervisor tier management is horrible as they fire perfectly good employees for no reason. Workplace culture was good within lower tier employees, teamleads and above seemed to have a "god-complex" which diminished employees work ethic and made us feel "small and insignificant". There is ZERO job security, as being fearful of losing my job at any given moment was the hardest day to day. 
The only positive thing was building the few good relationships between lower tier employees. 

Employees and H.R treat you like scum and always ready to stab you in the back, I've learned you'll never make Coworking friends to trust at work and out and management rating is at 2/10, and if you a touch to slow you'll be scolded infront of everyone stating your garbage the hardest thing is rotation shifts that sucks badly and to top it off I was scolded infront of everyone and a cop for being a THIEVE even though I had a Receipt from the grocery store where I purchased my groceries they didn't care to ask nor listen to my plea so screw blackfly company I hope it goes bankrupt !! and you who work there reading this you know who I am you all laughed at me and I'm disgusted about all this !!

Nothing but great things to say about this company, its brand, and its leadership. In a saturated industry with many similar products, this brand has clearly set itself apart with unique features no other companies offer. What truly stands out is the culture—every team member is treated like family. It has the heart of a small business with the sales and reach of a major corporation.

We’re always set up for success with the right tools, support, and coverage for the costs necessary to perform our roles. Management trusts us to do our jobs without micromanaging, which builds ownership, loyalty, and motivation to perform at our best.

It sounds great on paper but when people purposely go behind your back to sabotage you it can get disheartening. You feel like an outsider and no matter what you do to try to connect you'll always be the newbie when everyone else has been there for years. No concern for pay being processed on time. Management does not have time to address questions or suggestions to help new employees succeed. No HR department or actual training and performance evaluations. If the owners knew how upper management actually treated their staff I think they would be concerned. 

Just like the previous review states "old boys club". The company has grown significantly in the past few years.  They promoted everyone who has been there from the start to a management position. Majority of these people have no place being in a management role and as a result the place gas taken a turn for the worse. The latest trend is management hiring all of their drinking buddies..  I could go on and on about the unethical things that go on in this place and most things aren't even appropriate to be put online.  If you value professionalism, continuous learning, and a safety-oriented workplace I would avoid working here.  

As mentioned earlier. "Old boys Club" is a perfect description of the place. Upper management is a bunch of people who worked together from previous jobs and some of them have no business having the roles they do. Any complaints about any of them usually result with nothing happening, if anything you're usually punished. More downtime than production. No responses in group chats half the time. Place is going downhill. Management spends more time talking about gaming rather than current issues going on inside the factory.
