Partners do not care about you. You’re just a warm body in an office chair. They expect you to work 7 days a week. They do not like employees who work from home or come to the office only between 9-5. They expect you to work 8am-7pm and be in office everyday. They will tell you they offer remote work during the interview but then change the expectations after accepting the job. Partners use group intimidation to make you work more. 

If it wasn’t for their starting salary, no one would work here or force themselves to stay. VERY TOXIC environment, many better firms out there.

It can become understaffed drastically as it has high turnover of employees.

It is pretty good and diversified.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Working hard to build enough stress.

Very proactive firm. A typical day: check email; open mail; draft correspondence/pleadings; follow up with client/ insurance company/ insured; do dictation; schedule meetings and/or discovery.  It's a large firm so there is always someone there to help you if need be.  I loved working at Blaney's, it's given me alot of knowledge and experience I need to excel elsewhere.

Not a team environment. You are pitted against your colleagues. Not welcoming for a person of visible minority group. Very old boy’s club. Salaries are not at market rate. Partners do not have solid succession plans for associates. 

Micromanagement limits independence and growth
Limited consideration for employee work-life balance

This company is not a good place to work if you value flexibility, autonomy, and supportive management. the management style makes it a difficult environment for long-term growth or job satisfaction.

Wonderful place to work. Everyone was kind and helpful. 
I really enjoyed my time with the company. 
I highly recommend this law firm for anyone graduating college looking for a fun friendly environment to start in. Plenty of opportunity for permanent positions. 

Beware of management. They do not care about employees whatsoever and punish those who dare to request assistance or attempt to address any of the many, many problems present in the firm including a sexism and an apathy towards diversity and inclusion. 

Fast-paced law firm where I completed a variety of tasks related to commercial and residential real estate files.  Worked with very able lawyers on complex files.  A typical mid-sized law firm.

Challenging yet relaxed. My manager is fantastic to work with, really encourages growth and development. I would recommend working here! Great location downtown.

I would recommend this firm for anyone looking for co-op hours or exposure to litigation and the procedures. It was a great opportunity.
