Blenz Coffee

The work place is very fast paced, can be slow at times. A typical work day is serving customers, making food and cleaning. The management is doing the best at what they can I guess. At the location I worked at there is no HR, no write ups and zero help when it comes to bullying etc. you will absolutely get mistreated unless you’re the “diversity” of the job. Low pay, good tips but still doesn’t make up for the low pay. Hardest part of job is the customers which are incredibly rude. There’s also a lot of favouritism at this location and when the manager decides you are no longer a favourite you will be punished for it. There were some fun times at this job but it’s not one I would recommend to any one who is a hard worker because you will not be appreciated and cannot compete with the favourite staff who bully anyone who outshines others out. 

It took her over a month after the interview for her to contact me again about the job. the whole time during the interview she seemed disinterested and really didn’t care about what I was saying. When I was working there she scheduled me five days all in a row and four of those were closing shifts. That would’ve been fine except i’m in high school and have to take over an hour of public transportation just to get home, and she knew that. I told her i had to change my availability to only four or three shifts a week and she seemed understanding and said she’d change it for next week, until she started texting me to not come in for upcoming shifts saying that she’s making a new schedule. She stopped contacting me and never had the decency as an establishment owner to actually fire me. She barely spoke to me during shifts and mostly sat at her desks watching youtube videos, and always had her airpods in even when talking to customers.

I enjoyed my time with this company learning as much as I did; how to make coffee, the different types of drinks, the different types of coffee, tea and pastries. I cleaned a lot while working here as closing shifts. The manager/owner we rarely ever saw in the store after 3-4pm and was flexible with scheduling. The neighbourhood is a difficult one so the customers can be very hard to deal with especially the homeless and late night partiers. Aside from all that; my co-workers were for the most part, very memorable and enjoyable to work alongside with.

At first i was excited to work with them because i really wanted to be a barista. However, there were struggles since it was my first barista job and THEY WERE AWARE OF IT. They said they will train me and provide orientation but the “training” was terrible! They expect you to memorize the food and drinks in less than an hour and will get mad at you if you don’t get things right immediately. To cut the story short, they terminated me on my 2nd day. Did not even give me a chance. It hasn’t even been a week since i started working with them and they expected too much from me. Just want to emphasize that not enough training was given yet they get mad if you make mistakes. Not a nice workplace. 

Working at Blenz Coffee Shop has been an enriching and rewarding experience for me. From interacting with diverse customers to mastering the art of brewing exceptional coffee, every day has been filled with valuable learning opportunities and memorable moments.

One of the most rewarding aspects of working at Blenz Coffee Shop is the vibrant atmosphere and sense of community it fosters. The friendly staff and welcoming environment make every shift enjoyable and fulfilling. I've had the pleasure of serving a wide range of customers, from regulars who brighten our day with their familiar faces to tourists exploring the local coffee scene.

Working at Blenz Coffee for 2 years was a Good experience as being a Barista. Crowded place ,served hundreds of customers everyday and did responsible job of opening and closings aswel.
Learned great experience of Customer Service and compliments of being good barista. Worked in group with co-workers as a team and faced challenging parts of job. Working alone and handeling many customers at a time was hardest part , by understanding every minute is important because mostly all customers were students. Most enjoyable part is when our customer service please the customer and make them smile as a reward .

Working at Blenz was wonderful. It was a great job to meet and make relationships with the other staff members as well as out costumers. During the Summer season, the place was very busy so really face-paced work. I work well in environments like that because I find that it helps me work well with others and get into a good groove. The workplace culture was very welcoming when I first started there. All the previous staff were really nice to me and made me feel really welcomed in my first couple weeks. The hardest part of the job was the winter months because our location became very slow, and the evenings were even slower.

It is a good chance for me to work in this store. I can apply what I obtain in my previous experience, such as forecasting the selling speed, maintaining the stock level, monitoring the cost. Though I am not the manager, but every time when I work, I would think to the view of manager. It helps me to improve my own ability, and helps me to become a good co-worker.

This is just a part time job, my original purpose for this job is to learn some skills in latte arts.

Now, I am pretty good at latte art, plus a lot of skill strengthen from my previous experience, not only for communications, but also for analysis in my future career.

I have been working for 2,5 years at the Blenz Coffee .I usually open the store at 6.30 in the morning  and my day just starts. I really like my job because I love coffee and serving a good coffee to my customers.
When I see them leaving from my store as happy it makes me happy and increases my motivation.
I believe that how you serve you can get it back !! That is rule for me and always tell my co-workers. If I  give best quality service to my customers I get back best  result and doesn't matter how much I  have an hard in situation.I'm really passion person and it helps me alot. 

RULE is so simple best service best result !!

- Prepare all the kind of coffee as the costumers wants.
- I learned how to do kind of motives in the coffee latte,
- The manager is a gentle and kind person, always willing to teach every aspect about it
- Usually just I had one co-worker in every shift, my co-worker was a young women, She is a person who always form a team.
- The hardest part was in the morning when a lot costumers came to buy a coffee, we had to prepare the coffee very quick.
The most enjoyable part was meet a lot people and make friends.
