Where to start? Lot of cons!

It's hard to fit when you are a junior, most of employees are seniors. You will be treated of immature. 

I don't even know how this company work. HR departement is only for administration things. When you send your resume, seniors will receive it and put it on the server, it's accessible to everyone in the company, anyone can see it on the server. Your colleague will act like they did not see it but the expressions won't lie, not often. Seniors review resume, interview and decide whose hiring or not.

The environment can be toxic at time. 

Lot of stress to deal with. Prepare yourself if you are a junior, some managers can be rude, impolite and will discharge their PERSONAL stress on you and when you speak yourself out, it will be your fault, it's like dealing with a "senior gang" protecting each other. 

Lot of bad behaviors, gossips and personal questions I did not like to answer. 

I was paying fuel and food from my pocket when working on field. "The budget was not enough", said the project managers.

Overtime was not paid, you have to fill the time sheet every Monday. Most of the budget is to seniors and the very few left is to the junior and here you go, deal with the stress of finishing work field in time when unforeseen situation occurs.

Management is very poor, they are not trained at all to be managers, they are manager by +20 years promotion. You will see it clearly, some of them will act like it's their own company because of having some stocks on their name, it's funny but true.

If you don't like to visit your grandparents to avoid some unwelcomed curiosity, here you will be trained how to deal with seniors, it's a senior residence. 


My previous experience was with organizations that had well-developed processes and engineering documentation. Therefore, it was a difficult adjustment to join a smaller organization where I had to build calculation sheets from scratch, all while under pressure to meet set schedules. I soon found myself revisiting constants and equations I hadn't used since university to develop these new tools.

I was immersed in work meetings from my very first day. My manager was exceptionally intelligent, but his management skills were questionable, marked by an over-eagerness for performance.   Although I initially held back my frustration, I eventually addressed the communication issues between us.  Few weeks later, I was informed of my dismissal.

I believe someone with a different engineering background might perform better in this role. Working in a smaller organization requires greater agility and less reliance on established processes, a realization I found fascinating.  I felt I was beginning to master the work, progressing as I had in previous roles: starting slowly but gaining momentum exponentially. I passed key client tests, albeit with some hiccups similar to those in past positions.

Overall, I believe my dismissal resulted from a combination of some work errors, insufficient to fail client tests but enough to cause concern for my manager, and the honest but slightly heated feedback that followed did not help.

poor communications by management, poor consideration for employees contribution.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment came with unrealistic expectations, assignments and responsibilities above and beyond job description with no salary compensation for additional duties.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Demanding and stressful as management had unrealistic expectations that would make them look good, but no compensation for your delivering to expectations.

Interesting and compelling work, but showing any motivation or accomplishment in your tasks will quickly make you a pariah. They'll tell you about all kinds of opportunities and career growth, but revell in your absence of job security. Misdirection is the reoccurening apparent of company culture, as it's hard to tell who's genuine amongst all the faces of your few coworkers, speaking out both sides of their mouths. I fell for it too, but if you listen with a deaf ear, their actions become clear.

I’ve worked in 2 different offices and have completed projects for multiple other offices at BluMetric. Overall, the company has a great work life balance. However, they strongly underpay their employees and do not keep up with the market value. If you are the kind of person who doesn’t mind a lower salary in favour of a better work life, then this might be the place for you. Also, I noticed that they don’t reprimand their employees when they should be doing so. It can be extremely frustrating and unprofessional. 

Good place to work the company is quite flexible and allows work from home and you can design your own hours to an extent. 

Cons are the nature of consulting, it’s client first you may find yourself working through important personal days. Work load May get intense from time to time. Work-life balance isn’t really there. 

You learn on the job vs getting formal training for a lot of stuff- that could be a pro 

Learnt the technology for waste water treatment systems for municipal, mining, recreational parks customers.

Worked with multi disciplinary engineering teams - Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Electrical & Instrumentation and Installation & Commissioning teams.

Accumulated the experience for executing the projects for north American and South American markets

most of the people in the shop is friendly and including, management and supervisors are great and willing to teach on how they like the welding done

not having all the parts you need

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
fast paced, a mix of cultures depends on the department of the company

Shady company that uses it's larger accounts to funnel money into there failing projects. The workers are nice. Management cares more for education level then hard work and will dismiss you without reason. Runs like a highschool If you are not popular you will be dismissed.

The support provided was outstanding 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
It is a high paced job. With little room for error.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Excellent . I often worked remotely.

Nothing typical. Always changing.
