What is the best part of working at the company?
learning ASL. as well as the deaf culture.  This LTC home was definitely a whole different experience for someone who has worked in the field a long time.  I was there shortly after opening stayed for 8 years. a union was voted in by others i left due to union and poor management.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
dealing with back stabbing staff as well as poor management all he way up the chain.  totally different place when it opened almost as many deaf staff\residents as hearing was a great balance

poor work morale, favoritism... loved the deaf culture very straight forward

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical personal support workers day , lots of work not enough hands or people

Staff , atmosphere is great . It’s a safe and clean place to have your loved-ones. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Normal behaviour for the type of environment. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great work environment, always looking after residents well-being 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Having a great time with residents during programs. There is always something fun to do.

7.5 hour shift on the dot. You frequently cover for multiple people as well as your own position as is the expectation. The wage is some of the lowest in the industry, the expectation is high, with little to no support from all management including administrator.

Managment is unapproachable and don't take the time to interact with staff and residents. There is bias and whistle blowing is non existent. You can't confide in your superior without reprecussions.
However, the staff that work for the home have amazing teamwork and try to keep the atmosphere as positive as possible. 

management ruins this workplace, and the insensitivity of some of the healthcare professionals at bob rumball, is a money driven environment. Money is main priority 

I loved working here. The staff were all very friendly and everyone really cared about the resident's. There were a lot of activities for them to do. A typical day at work was cleaning all of the rooms, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning laundry areas, cleaning common areas, laundry, cleaning dining rooms, emptying garbages, escorting resident's to and from the dining room, dusting, and sanitizing things

Consistently short staffed. Management treats employees horribly, and doesn’t help up when short staffed. Truly an unsafe working environment. Pay is poor. The lowest paying company in town for PSW and nurses in long term care. No support provided to staff, majority of staff is dealing with burnout. Do yourself a favour and don’t bother with this place.

Been working there for less than 2 months and experience with the residents have been eventful but enjoyable but the staff make it miserable from time to time. 

It’s hard to find a steady support system in the community and makes each shift more difficult to want to come to. Depending on your age I feel also plays a factor into how you’re treated as well

I loved working here for my co-op the staff was great to work with and the residents always made me smile. I loved to be there everyday. I loved getting to learn ASL again and being able to communicate with people that are deaf now that I understand American Sign Language.

Nothing good to say deaf against the hearing staff. Everyone is friends . Manager / staff  HR  friends . Not a nice place to work. Just go do my wirk. Finish head home. Nothing else to say .
