The company, overall, is amazing to its employees. You can really tell they care about their people. That said, like anywhere, there are times when that kindness can be misunderstood or taken advantage of.

Can it be stressful? Yes—but what job isn’t, especially when you care about what you’re delivering? I work in the Service Department, so communication is constant. Sometimes that means after-hours conversations, but it also means we come together as a team and find the work genuinely fulfilling.

There are always two sides to every story, but from my experience, there are plenty of opportunities for the right people, and their successes are recognized and celebrated.

I continue to learn every day and really enjoy the team around me. We find time to balance hard work with laughter, and most importantly, we respect both the work we do and each other.


The company complied well with all the policy that applies to everyone. Lots of room for improvement and learning techniques. Managers are designated well and knows to delegate their people. Multi cultural workplace but predominantly Caucasian and crops of young generations. The hardest part of the job is when you reach closing deadlines and still luck of information required to properly quote a job. I enjoyed working on my own pace, dealing with numbers and winning good and profitable projects is what satisfied me at the end of the day.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Benefits are the only good thing, they don’t stick to their word, no pay raise after 3 months, make you use own vehicle to drive to sites, make you pay for daily parking ($20 a day) no overtime. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Money is not enough to survive off. You have to use own vehicle and gas to get to all different sites and you have to pay for parking. It’s the worst company I have ever worked for.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Everything about this company is awful.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Up at 4am to drive to different sites using my own vehicle and gas, paying for parking.

Having worked in the roofing industry for over a decade, this was by far one of the most disappointing companies I've ever worked for. They don't pay over time, expect you to like  and work like a dog, they don't follow union rules with raises, even parking being compensated was hard at times, if you complain about not being paid fairly you're punished, management wants yes men for minimum wage (unless you're family or friend of the family then your taken care of) . If your desperate go for it but if your a roofer with skill even if your family my recommendation is to... RUN. Seriously, there are so many other companies out there that actually follow their word and stick to what they promise this company isn't worth it. 

Often at times they lacked sufficient manpower and still laid the blame and responsibility on the foreman. Never taking responsibility for their mistakes or failures. My opinion seemed to be somewhat worthless. In time. Things got worse. Exclusively if a foreman had issues with his crew member no discipline was allowed by supervisor. And often there was no accountability from employee and thus issues would fester and escalate. To the point I deemed it necessary to move on. Although I understand this was exclusive to the branch I worked at. As other branches seem to be more open. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The pay would be the only benefit of working in this toxic waste pool of bad management and poor communication.. Accountability doesn't exist and with the merger several good people were screwed over..

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The lack clear direction and poor training 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic beyond Toxic.. Lack of people taken accountability for the own actions..

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Each day is different no two days are the same

Learned alot while working there. Reason its 3 stars for alot of it and not 5 is they do not pay overtime for the most part but you only have to work 10 hours and can leave tho most foreman dont like it. Its ether your in their circle or your getting screwed. Pay was always on time. Weekends are optional but be warned come winter they dont lay you off they just dont give hours. When you commit your hours for the union raises it takes them months sometimes years to give it to you. And no they dont back pay
 Great place to start out. Would not recommend this place for start to retire.

Like most things in life...it'll be what you make it.

If you want a career,  an  opportunity this is the place for you.

Yes, there be expectations but that's also the case wherever you go.

Ownership is the best in industry and you are supported. 

For those that have left, we can only wish them the very best,  hope that they are able to thrive and succeed elsewhere. 

For anyone that is thinking of starting in Roofing, Waterproofing, Sheet Metal. Whether it be in the field or office, I would strongly consider jumping in and learn from your experiences to maximize your growth.  

Your career, your choices also starts with you. 

The company was run by not so good leaders the owner have a good visions to the company and employee. But the president of operations and most of the leaders are not so friendly with the employees. Most leaders are full of attitude, lots of office politics and a very stressful work place, you cannot even openly talk to co workers but only during lunch hours and end of working day. Most of the time we are monitor every minute very stressful inside the office. Almost every month employee get fired so majority are leaving that same company.

I moved to lower mainland as a immigrant, they did my paperworks and the management was always helpful. Metaldivision, Supervisors are awesome, nice persons and very friendly, The Foremans are educated and know whats to do. Lots of Motivation also thru the philli coworkers, they are always smiling:-) good people , i quit only because the city was too big,Im a  countryguy. I would always stop for a talk if I met anyone, would send my friends to this company, really good  enjoy!
