My experience working at the store was far from enjoyable, as I constantly felt degraded and overlooked as an employee. During my first few months I genuinely enjoyed working there; however once new management came into place it all changed, and the work environment became increasingly difficult to be in. I was treated poorly which made me feel as though I was constantly being watched and scrutinized. I also felt that there was a noticeable double standard in the way the other employees were treated, which at times felt discriminatory and unfair. 

Throughout my time working at this company I endured a lot of stress despite knowing that I provided excellent customer service and worked efficiently in my role as a sales associate. Management often treated me as though my efforts were not valued, constantly micromanaging me and making me feel under appreciated rather than supported as an employee. 

For example, I noticed that I had not been scheduled on cash for months. When I finally addressed this concern, I was told that I was “too slow” on cash, which felt unfair and was extremely discouraging given that I had not been given consistent opportunities to improve or practice. The way this situation was handled felt extremely unprofessional and had negatively impacted my confidence and experience at the company. 

To say the least the workplace was dysfunctional and lacked leadership or team support. There was little sense of teamwork, and at the atmosphere felt negative and unprofessional. Occasionally management would discuss how much they did not want to be there or “wanted to go home” in front of customers, which not only created an uncomfortable environment, but also reflected poor professionalism of the store. 

Overall I would summarize my experience with this company as disappointing and stressful- coming into the store with a positive attitude and respect, and leaving feeling undervalued and discouraged due to poor treatment from management.

I moved up fast here. Started as a sales associate and quickly became keyholder. My first few months working here were amazing. My co-workers were great. The job in general is fun and productive yet challenging. You will be pushed to make sales and there is competition between co-workers to make the most sales. The pay was good. I got paid a very decent wage plus you can make commission based on your sales. 

One of the negatives though is hours are not guaranteed. Even as keyholder I was still part time. They will cut your hours based on how busy the store is and how much is selling. Be prepared to get sent home early from a shift because sales are not high that day. Half way through my work experience here we got a new store manager and she was absolutely terrible. She hired friends of hers and would play favourites with them. Giving them more hours, higher pay, better job duties etc. She threatened to demote me without a legitimate reason. I suspected it was so she could promote one of her "favourites". Which is exactly what happened as soon as I quit. Within a few months of having the new manager everyone I worked with originally had quit. The district manager was useless. She let all of this slip past her. She didn't have a clue what was going on internally in her stores, and let the managers get away with whatever they wanted. They could treat you unfairly and get away with it. 

The company overall is decent but does not show much appreciation or care for their employees.

Working with this company for the past 15 years has been an incredible journey of both personal and professional growth. Every year, I’ve had the opportunity to learn and evolve, gaining valuable experience that has shaped me into the leader I am today. The company's commitment to providing tools and resources for its employees is truly remarkable.

La Vie En Rose is by far the worst company that I have ever worked for. I would never suggest to any one to work for this company. They are very cheap and pay you poorly and expect unrealistic sales goals and in return their is no sales incentives or anything that makes it worth your while.

The management is awful and not to mention catty. The managers love to gossip about their staff behind their backs making it a hostile and toxic work environment. They would sometimes sit on the phone and gossip for hours, usually with managers from other locations. Many of the girls who work there want to quit daily because of this. 

I enjoyed working with the other sales associates and built some great friendships but the environment was still so toxic. 

Everything was unorganized and poor about this company. The new stock was always done in a poor and untimely manner and usually dumped onto one sales associate.

 The training was almost non-existent with this company. They basically threw you onto the sales floor after reading one booklet. Then they would expect you to know things they never bothered to teach you. Even the management team was clearly not trained well. They lacked managerial skills and it reflected badly onto the sales associates and the company as a whole.

The job itself is not hard, pretty basic retail things. Greeting customers, selling and upselling, working the till and stock. But the extremely pushy sales tactics are overbearing and embarrassing. We were forced to be on people as soon as they walk in the store and then follow them around trying to sell them whatever they happened to be looking at.  You also had to make sure you were constantly on the customer in the change rooms as well.  Half the time customers just ended up getting mad and leaving.  Also, you did get a very small commission here, so sales staff and managers were always arguing with each other and stealing sales. Work environment was so stressful. Always overheard the management team talking about each other and staff behind their backs and gossiping to sales associates about other associates. Internal theft was also a problem and the manager did nothing about it. Very toxic environment and not worth the minimum wage you get paid. Only good part was the regular sales associates were always so awesome to work with and you got to help some really nice customers. But at the end of the day the management only cared about sales numbers. 

A typical day at work lacks organization and a clear structure. The way tasks are carried out seems arbitrary and there is no established system in place. Unfortunately, the level of training provided is minimal, if not non-existent. Restocking and destocking procedures appear to be random, with no attention given to proper sizing within the store leading to inefficiencies and difficulties in locating items when needed.

The most troubling aspect of this workplace is its culture. It is plagued by cliques and a shocking lack of professionalism among the employees, even in front of guests. This not only creates a toxic environment but also reflects poorly on the company as a whole. Adding to the tension, there is a competitive atmosphere driven by commission-based incentives. This continues to foster a mean-spirited attitude and further adds to the strained relationships between coworkers. It's disheartening to witness employees who have been there for years and should have been let go long ago, as they perpetuate the poor culture and negative attitude.

Overall, these issues greatly affect the work environment and create a discouraging atmosphere for both employees and customers alike.

I don’t like to leave bad reviews, however my experience working at this store was severely less than desirable. 
I started this job feeling great and confident and appreciated, and by the time I left I felt exceptionally small and belittled. The management is absolutely ridiculous. When I started they told me that there isn’t much drama, except with the teenage girls because they’re young girls. But there was so much drama and judgement from management it all centred around them. They constantly put everyone down, and pick favourites, and when they decide they don’t like someone, they build any case possible to write them up to get them out. 
The girls who I worked with were the best part of the job besides the customers, they were helpful and good hard workers. The company itself is great also, the district manager I always enjoyed seeing, the commission and benefits were decent and they treat their employees well. Unfortunately their management team in this particular store never graduated from their high school drama. 
I love working in customer service, however this place has made me walk away from retail all together, which I was disappointed with because I did love the job.

I can say with absolute certainty that La Vie En Rose is the worst place I’ve ever worked. The management is terrible- very unorganized and rude towards their employees. I was lied to during my interview about how much money I would be making while working there, and once I brought this to their attention they ignored the problem and kicked me off our stores dayforce app. Along with this, everyone who started at the same time I did received no training before they were put on the floor. Management and higher ups do not care about their employees and only care about selling the most product that they can. As well, management does not respect days you booked off or times you aren’t available to work and will schedule you in then anyway. As far as relationships with co workers went, there was no camaraderie among employees. In fact, after the first week of our store opening there was already drama/tension between different employees and people were already getting picked on- even by management. If you want to work somewhere you will actually enjoy, this is not the place for you.

This is a good job for beginners, pretty flexible but sometimes the hours are slim/not what you have for availability. 

There are unfortunately many issues such as absolutely NO breaks unless you work 8 hrs, and only scheduling 4-5 hour shifts rather than giving 8 hours, refusing to give 8 hours. 

Management was generally nice to your face but often super passive aggressive at times, nagging you to take shifts on days you have other commitments, not explaining/teaching you what to do and then getting upset that you aren’t doing things correct.  There was also a lot of contracting where one senior employee would say one thing and then another would contradict that, getting you stuck between. It’s all unfortunately very disorganized compared to any other retail jobs I have worked.

It’s good for seasonal work but due to the management at this location, I don’t recommend it for anything beyond seasonal.

They care very little for their employees and don’t even supply their stores with basic things like fatigue mats or money bags for cash floats, if you want them you have to pay out of pocket, so that comes off extremely unprofessional as those are things every retail store should have. You get warnings and written up for every single mistake you make, they act like it helps you learn but it just makes the job environment so tense. They’re extremely strict about time off, they basically expect you to sacrifice everything for this job, even asking will turn into a lecture from your manager. The workload is heavy because employees are constantly quitting since it’s such a bad environment, so you’re either short staffed or working with an entirely new team who are still learning, so either way you’re having to pick up extra shifts or take on more workload. Dress code is strict and confusing. The retail system is awful and causes constant problems. All in all just a very stressful environment for very little pay.
