Staff members have gone to management with issues of harassment from residents and it is left unaddressed and unsupported. 
Staff members spoken up about issues of bullying and were not met with support. Due to management not stepping in to protect a staff member being bullied it leads to conflict amongst staff or people quitting.  
The most difficult meal to serve is dinner. Both managers are not present during this meal service. The manager over dinner sometimes has to cook and is unable to deal with issues in the dining room. 
There are call ins almost on a daily basis causing the rest of the team to scramble to function short staffed. This leads to a poor service for the staff and residents. Many staff members experience anxiety/panic attacks due to the stressful work environment
Not paid enough for the amount of work that is expected. Probably better off working in a restaurant because you can make tips. 
This place has the potential to be good. Working with the elderly can be a very rewarding job. However the issues that need to be addressed are not taken seriously. Until management is willing to make an effort to provide a positive work environment they will struggle to hire and keep people. 

Overall great experience.  The kitchen manager and the food service manager are consistently checking in to make sure everything is going smoothly and that everything is going to be ready in time for service to start.  When the service preparation for that day is a little heavier and help is needed, both the kitchen manager and food service manager have jumped in to help.
Everyone looks out for everyone to ensure that everything operates smoothly and that the residences will receive their services in the utmost timely manner.
It is awesome how well everyone has managed all of the curve balls thrown their way recently with the constant changes happening due to covid.  There have been some staffing shortages due to the unpredictability of covid, but everyone has manged to handle it very professionally and has lent helping hands when needed.
One of the best kitchens I have ever worked in.  I really recommend working here.

Management is not supportive. Issues brought forward about co-workers and residents are not addressed. Bullying and harassment occur worker to worker and from resident to worker. It is a stressful and overwhelming environment that is straining to one’s mental health. 

Consistently understaffed. Management does not step in to help but instead staff must take more on. Staff have been disciplined about absences due to mental health struggles and other illnesses. 

Workers are underpaid for the amount of tasks expected to be complete during a shift. Not paid if you have to stay late to complete additional tasks that have been assigned.  

Care and satisfaction of the residents does not appear to be the company’s top priority. 

Many co-workers and residents were amazing to work with. There were many positives that also came from this job. Negative experiences unfortunately outweighed the positive ones. Changes must be made to create a healthy work environment. 

A typical day as a server here will start with coming in to find out that you will be short staffed.  The kitchen manager never works weekends so be ready to find coverage when short staffed yourself.  Servers are treated terribly.  It is a high stress environment.  Job is mentally and physically draining and they don't care if you don't get a break even on 8 hour shifts.  Always running out of food.  The only good thing about this job is the residents and the co-workers.  The expectation of server to resident ratio is unattainable resulting in the residents always being angry.  Management will NOT listen to complaints or suggestions from servers.  Any complaints that they receive from the residents they will blame on the servers.  They also discriminate against student workers.

Where to begin.  This particular management technique is embarrassing at best given the nature of the business.  From a corporate level all the way down.  Half the staff has never met the g.m. let alone the people at the top.  Why you ask?  Everybody hides.  They hide behind each other and just point fingers.  The morale amongst the staff has been diminshed to nothing...which seems to be what MTCO wants.  It was an embarrassment working for such cowards...always hiding in the dark.  The staff is exceptional...and bless their loyalty both to each other and the residents.

Management seemingly doesn’t care about staff or residents.They do not abide by the outline of the Union agreement. They offer no job stability And  try to create an atmosphere of constant fear of termination. The GM refuses to listen to employee issues. And Kitchen management physically intimidated staff by breaking things and verbally abuses staff on a daily basis. Would not recommend this workplace to anyone and hope something can be done about this for the sake of the residents and staff

I worked at Bowmanville Creek as a server for several months. It’s a very stressful environment. Constantly running out of food, being called several times to work on days that were booked off, and management being nowhere to be found. Some of the older servers are also not a big fan of some of the student staff and it even felt very clique at times. Also very little training given. The only good part of this job is the residents. Although it can be tough at times to not be able to serve them a meal they would like due to shortage. 

I’ve been working here as agency then decided to become staff I just got a new job elsewhere and the pay is so much better for a fraction of the work understaffed and underpaid and they act like they are doing you a favour toxic work environment always gotta watch your back because the same people with a smile on there face will pull the trigger  every department from payroll to management to staff have there problems I always wonder why we can’t just get this money in peace without all the drama and gossip you can’t trust anybody

When I interviewed for the position they offered me the job on the spot. I accepted the position primarily because the pay on the job listing and what was discussed was so high. However, when I got to work and signed the papers they changed to paying me student wage without telling me there was a change. In the actual job you are expected to do much more than is worth it for even minimum wage. I quit after a month so I’d apply elsewhere. 

Don't work here  it is a horrible place with horrible management. The turn over rate is quite bad and not just on my sector. The residents are angry and mean in the dining room, second floor is good though. I dont think I'd work here again if they offered me double
