During a steady day we always make sure to greet every customer and make sure they know we are available to them if they need help. We always make sure the selling floor has all the products for the costumer to see. If we do not have the item in the store we call other stores to see if them have the item, if not we make the procedures to see if the item can be ordered. If there is no way of getting the item we suggest another item that could be useful to the customer's needs. There's always someone greeting at the front of the store and someone close enough to the checkout counter. We always make sure everyone working that day knows the main goal for the day. Everyone also has a smaller personal goal to lighten the load and make the main goal more reachable. We always want our customers to leave the store satisfied with their experience at the store and to think of us next time they need a gift, furniture or to decorate their own homes.

A typical day at work was making sure that the customers were aware of the sales going on and assisting them in finding whatever they were looking for to help decorate their home, or find hostess gifts, Christmas gifts etc.  Co-workers had to learn from each other and help each other out. Most enjoyable part was making customers happy.

I learned how to up-sell and make sure I focus on the needs of the customer and what I could do to make sure they got what they wanted. 

Hardest part was when I had to look in the back stock room which was very very small.

The job was not very busy at times, but always could find something to do.
Enjoyed learning about merchandising.
Found most management to be incompetent, and unrealistic.
The store had a great atmosphere and customers.
Hardest part was covering for the incompetent manager.
Also knowing there was never going to be any raises, even as a key holder.
Most enjoyable part was the nice long time customers, and the new product coming in every week

A typical day was mostly a pleasant routine.

I started with the company in October of 2017, as just a means of paying my bills while at school but the great environment and friendly staff made it feel like home. It's a 200 year old company with a rich history and background. The management is A+, the job is great for someone who likes to provide excellent customer service. A real joy to work!

A day at work was pretty easy, working through the holiday hours around Christmas time did get pretty busy and you would have to work under stress but all and all it was a pretty enjoyable job working seasonal. My co-workers were very pleasant and always there if I needed to ask questions, especially my manager. The most enjoyable part of the job would have to be meeting different people everyday,

Really enjoyed working with all the staff.
We were like a family with each other.
Loved assisting customers in purchasing home decor and giving them advice and my opinion on their decision making.
Looked forward to getting new and beautiful products.
Christmas was always my favourite time of the year. The store was transformed into a magical place with all the decor we put throughout the store. 

It was like Christmas everyday, I enjoyed working with the people I worked with and it was fun.  Decorating is what I love and having so many beautiful things to work with I could of done more of this but opening and stocking shelves was fun and rewarding too.

Began to learn communications with fellow designers and other departments. Execute ideas/concepts to final product (POP, brochures, announcements for web page). Most complex part of this job was to accomplish many requirements in short period of time.
