Brampton Soccer Centre

As a volunteer at the Brampton Soccer Centre, I have gained valuable experiences that can pertain to that of a workplace. As a preschool activity assistant, I would play with the children and incorporate school-related activities such as reading, writing, and colouring at the preschool and school aged level. I was responsible for creating the crafts and reading time, playing games and dancing with the children, and preparing all the children for lunch. Through this volunteer experience I have learned that a career in the social service field requires a lot of commitment, passion and experience to grow and learn new things everyday. I have learned that customer service and communication plays a big role in leaving people and yourself satisfied at the end of every shift. My supervisors was very kind and always gave instructions and help when needed. Their constructive advice and tips helped me succeed and achieve greater happiness at the end of my volunteering experience to contribute to my future career and what it would be like as a daily job. The hardest part of volunteering as a preschool activity assistant was controlling the kids whenever they cried and wanted to go home. The most enjoyable part of this experience was seeing the children smile as they walked into class and enjoyed the company of us workers and volunteers that taught them school-related activities.

Working at Brampton Soccer Center taught me to do more than one thing when working with others. A typical day would be setting up a classroom and then working collectively to ensure the kids have good time with their learning. It was frustrating when working with kids, but enjoyable when they cooperated. Management too helped out when we were in need and checked on us to see how we were doing.

The bosses are pretty good but they tend to get moved around a lot, due to this, every year there is a new person in charge that you have to get familiar with again. Pay could've been better since you're working for the city and some of the hours aren't so great but overall if you're looking for a part-time job that you can still have time to focus on other matters, this is the place!

I started volunteering at Brampton Soccer Centre to accumulate 40 hours worth of community service to graduate high school. I ended up getting around 100 hours instead. 
I've met many people here as well as many kids who liked my company, and it was an overall enjoyable experience to add to my high school graduation requirement.

I  had volunteered at Brampton Soccer Centre  over the weekend to complete my high school  volunteer  hours. The environment was friendly and all the staff  were all helpful. I enjoyed my time there.

It was a very tough job. Working with a lot of older employees, who been working for the company for about 10 years. Learned a lot about maintenance and setting up rooms . Hardest part of the job was working the cleaning up duties

I've worked for the city for a while and I have always enjoyed it. Most co-workers are friendly, understanding and professional. The hardest part of the job is going through the trainings.

The requirements were straight forward and training was very informative.

Staff and employers were not friendly. Easy place to work. Maintenance staff were very friendly. I suggest not to work at Brampton Soccer Centre.

The voluntary work includes with helping the full timers organize and plan  ahead for their programs. Great experience in dealing with customers and running programs to invest in the youth.
