Very high-pressure sales environment with strict performance expectations. Base pay is low for the workload, and most income depends on bonuses.
In my experience, bonuses were inconsistent and often used as leverage, creating ongoing pressure rather than motivation. Even as a top-performing seller for multiple weeks, earnings did not always feel secure or predictable.
Management appeared to have limited authority and mainly acted under direction from ownership. Communication could feel condescending, and concerns were not handled supportively. Some expectations discussed during hiring were later described as ‘miscommunication,’ which created confusion.
The workplace culture was highly competitive due to the bonus structure, which often led to tension between staff instead of teamwork. There was also a high level of employee turnover during my time there.
Scheduling was very restrictive, with extended blackout periods throughout the year requiring near full availability. Time-off requests, even for important matters such as health concerns , could affect compensation, and flexibility afterward was minimal.
Cleaning duties were also a regular expectation but were not clearly communicated during hiring. Staff were responsible for maintaining whole store and office areas, washrooms, and occasionally outdoor spaces (parking lot).
Overall, this role involves high pressure, very limited flexibility, and inconsistent compensation, which may not be suitable for everyone.

Great place to work, I am a paid intern at Bratopia and currently learn about marketing and promotional events (Alberta Ballet, Woman's show, Photo-shoots) , product knowledge, store and display merchandise, active participant in sales meetings and product ordering. 

A typical day at work is helping our customers find the right fitting bra for them, we do a measurement followed by excellent customer service as we help them to find the perfect bra for them.
I have learned so much about what I enjoy and what I am looking for in a career, I am passionate about sales and traveling and enjoy making long lasting relationships with my clients. I love to meet new people and to be given the opportunity to learn something new, with Bratopia I have learned about what goes into event planning such as promotional work as well as making your vision a reality.
Braopia staff have become some very good friends of mine by having a great team dynamic it also helps our sales, we work together to help our customers to the best of our abilities. 
The most enjoyable part of my job is the women I get to help, we deal with body issues, confidence issues, and insecurity issues as well and when you can help these women it really does change the way you look at your job as well as your own life.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part about working here was the team environment, as well as interacting with customers. Everyone was usually in a good mood and we had fun throughout the day. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part sometimes the store traffic. It could get fairly busy and was sometimes challenging to keep up with all of the people. Sometimes it was hard to meet sales goals on slower days, but this goes for all retail.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The team was my favourite part of the job. Everyone was so kind and caring and wanted you to succeed. Within the other Fit Consultants there was no harsh competition, we all wanted each other to do well. Additionally, the management was supportive and wanted to create an inclusive environment.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day started with a quick meeting to go over numbers and appointments for the day. Usually the day would consist of fitting customers, ensuring the store was kept tidy, and the occasional stock and cleaning days.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Really hard workers with strong values thrive in this environment. There’s not a lot of retail jobs that close at 6. Really positive energy and great group of women to work with. Met some amazing people that I’m still friends with to this day. If you have strong work ethic you will make huge money! Management cares about their employees and supports people to do their best or chase their dreams. There’s customers are really amazing and I enjoyed making small connections with each of them in such an intimate environment. 10/10 would recommend!

It was nice to be surrounded with all women working however there is just too much pressure on everything. You are being watched, every inch you do. If you came to work late because of public transit, in few hours a manager would talk to you in private about the tardiness and recommends that you should talk the first bus (and wait extra 40minutes outside before your shift start). I understand they prioritize a good time management but sometimes things happen in your way that is out of your control. They’re very strict to employees that I felt I am locked up in a prison during my time here. Great thing in this company is that they give free items to employees, good prices for achieving the sales goal and instead of throwing out damages, they just give it to employees. They give food every Fridays during team meeting and there’s a lot of lovely people, its just too strict on everything.

Working with women who truly care about themselves and each other, in a supportive caring  environment.

Balancing busy periods while still giving each client personalized attention can be challenging—but with strong organization, it never feels stressful.

A warm, supportive environment where you’re encouraged to grow, with caring and compassionate teammates who genuinely support each other.

A warm, fast-paced environment where you get to help amazing clients, learn about new products, and work with beautiful pieces every day.

I had such an amazing experience working for BraTopia. Every day I was welcomed by a positive, hard-working team of women who empowered and supported one another. My tasks were clearly outlined for me and there were check-ins to help me succeed, and I was never put in a position where I I was uncomfortable or could not effectively complete my tasks. I loved interacting with the customers every day -- the clientele were so kind. The hardest part was definitely multi-tasking, but it's also what kept the work from getting boring. I learned so much more about women's health, bra fittings, hospitality, and how to work in a great team environment.

I was let go for speaking up about being treated unfairly. I never even heard back from them when I wrote a formal complaint detailing my concerns. I’m pretty sure I was just hired to help with the move to their new location then disposed of after. The manager was extremely controlling and fake. She showed favouritism to some employees (all Caucasian) and spoke to others like we were inferior. If you choose to work here keep to yourself and don’t trust that they have your best interests at heart. The owner just cares about money. Worst management I’ve ever experienced.

I worked here prior to returning to school to study Engineering.  The team was a lot of fun to work with - and I could tell management truly cared about how we were doing.  We worked hard - but we were paid very well with bonuses and incentives.

There can be very busy days - which is unpredictable.

The team is amazing - management supported my training and growth.

What is the best part of working at the company?
This is a hard working environment, This is an amazing environment if you are a determined, hard worker. Days flew by got my steps in and had lots of good laughs. Expectations were clear everyone was treated equally and fair and management truly cares.


What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When team members don’t pull their weight. If there are team members that don’t pull their weight or team members that were gossipy but most of them didn’t last.
