Bravo Target Safety

This job is great if you’re in it for the short term. Really fun in the short term. Making this job your long term would be a mistake.

There’s a lot of really great people that work at this company, but it’s mismanaged to the point where it’s psychologically exhausting to be an employee here in any capacity that I’ve experienced. Expect to receive 1/4 of the information you need before going to a job. Upon arrival, nobody knows who you are or what your role is, & not only does that make the company look bad, but it makes you look bad as an individual. This will happen to you many times if you stay long enough. Don’t know how many times I’ve been sent to a new site, then immediately sent to a job as soon as I step through the gate, & not be informed by any superiors as to what any of the site’s emergency response information was. Many new employees don’t have the sense to ask, and this is when our job becomes redundant.

I could go on for a very long time in the form of a “review” of my chunk of time with this company, but for the sake of the respect I still have for a small few people that still work here, I will end this with one singular piece of advice:

There are so many better opportunities out there. The drama within this company is seriously too much to bear & makes it the train wreck that it unfortunately is.

First things first, every company has it's issues, this will remain true no matter where you work and as someone who has worked for multiple outfits in the same industry I can say the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Bravo's growth over the last 2 years alone is astounding, when I first started it was stagnant however the company recognizes that things need to change and is actively working towards doing so. They've recently dedicated themselves to trying to keep great, motivated employees they encounter during massive hiring sprees for shut down season. If you work hard and have a good attitude you will likely be moved into better positions and they will try to make sure you get hours in hopes that you will stay and not be starved for work.

The training program at Bravo is also very good, a couple of gripes being that you have to provide your own place to stay and aren't paid for the training. I assume the reason for this is because you aren't technically an employee during the training and it acts as a screening process as well. The program is thorough, they have good people running it and it's fair in length (3-4 days.) The same is true for their High Angle Rescue training.

As with any company you will run into good and bad people, sometimes the bad outweigh the good but more often than not you will meet good people you end up having a great time with.

Overall, Bravo is improving and I would absolutely recommend working here.

-Pay is not relative to hours worked.
 
-Day rates are for 12 hour work periods, almost every single job you will be on site for AT LEAST 13 hours(to cross-shift and wait out the safety meeting), and this is not counting the VERY likely chance that there will be a 1-2 hour drive to and from the hotel or camp.

-There is ZERO concern for the employee from dispatchers.  They only see you as a means to fill a demand from the client.  I have been sent out in blizzards(4 hour drive turned into 13+), drove 8 hours to a camp and  told when I get there that I am working nights that same night, and been told that I HAVE to do a job even when I express a concern for safety and that I don't want to do it to list off a few instances.

Overall this is not a great place to work, the ONLY upside is if you are young, live out of town(so they can't call you back in on your days off), and are just looking to put in as many hours as possible to make a good paycheque.  The money and a few of the other field employees are the only good thing about working for Bravo Target, and even then that is only when there is enough work to keep you busy.

I like the fact of going to new sites and meeting all kinds of people who are busy doing their tasks .I am glad to be a proclamer of the importance of safety advancement which has evolved greatly over the last 30 years. The only disadvantage is that this type of employment is seasonal. Mainly shutdown season in the oil &gas industry. So if you're planning on making safety a career, you  must balance the annual employment by compensating income with another seasonal employment. 
 Dont apply for this specialty work unless you have the mental and physical capabilities as it is a serious job requiring you to have a responsible attitude..And remember that other people are placing their lives in your hands . If you don't have the time to do it right the first time, when are you going to find the time to come back to complete the task?
  I liked the experience, training and the fact that all the equipment was in top notch conditions. 
 Management was excellent and very helpful. You must remember how they take care of you so you must adopt that into your personality moving forward in your life.

My typical day at work was very busy. I always had something new to do or accomplish. The atmosphere was fast paced and deadline driven. I was in charge of hiring all staff for Shutdown seasons, which required me to interview close to 700 people in the span of 3 months.

I was the HR Managers right hand through my time with Bravo Target. I learned many HR processes and procedures first hand, as well as developed my recruiting career.

The culture was friendly but professional.

The hardest part of the job was the pressure of completing deadlines and finding willing and able candidates that were able to complete the requirements. The job was very demanding and time consuming. I had to make sure that I was on the ball everyday. 

The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to speak to so many people and learn their stories. Being able to interact one on one in interviews and discovering different types of people. I loved working my co workers and learning something new everyday.

If you're looking to get your foot into the oilfield industry and meet some great people then Bravo Target is a good start.

Cons: 

You've get to meet some really good people (mostly co-workers and workers of other trades)
Pay is decent, it's not terrible so i'll give it that.

Everything else with the company unfortunately is a disaster though.

List:

Poor Communication or No Communication
Work/Life balance is non-existent (little balance on the best days)
Not getting paid on time.
Very questionable management, a disaster at best.
Training is also barely there, if not non-existent as well.

Long story short, This company is a Hit or Miss.

Your experience will vary depending on certain circumstances.

I worked here for 3 years and overall I was not given a raise and was kept in the dark I was the main safety watch, bottle watch technician on site so I had responsible role but was treated very poor my the client we provide safety watch service for they swear at me and won't want to sign my documents and prove their safety training for the role of their job position.. the clients think that we are just there watching them work and they treated us bad I didn't like it so after 3 years I had to move on because I am known in the industry and I know workers all over the industry and they to did not threat me right. 

Laziest coworkers I've had in a long time. Only way to advance is to brown nose. I had a lead tell me to monitor the air outside of the confined space with the gas monitor instead of inside the confined space  before workers entered. I've been in safety for many years and knew this was wrong and just laughed . They will hire anyone and put the competent people in the field while the rest sit inside a trailer to get paid. I've also witnessed them providing air for trades inside a confined space only for the air to get cut off. They've put many trades at risk. The payroll department seems like they failed basic math. If you get laid off doo not expect your ROE for at least two weeks if not more.

There was never a typical day at work, you could go into work in the morning and have a thorough plan for the day and what you want to accomplish but your plan would almost never happen. The controller would constantly pull the finance team away from their daily duties to do reporting and investigating that should of never been done by someone in finance in the first place.
The management is absolutely brutal, at least in the finance world with this company. The finance team never had any support, guidance or training from the controller, who was our "direct manager".

Working at Bravo Target has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The leadership team sets a high standard for integrity, transparency, and vision. They genuinely care about employee growth and well-being, and it shows in every decision they make. Communication is clear, goals are well-defined, and support is always available. I’ve felt empowered to take initiative and contribute meaningfully, thanks to the trust and encouragement from management. Bravo Target doesn’t just talk about leadership—they live it. Highly recommend to anyone seeking a workplace where great leadership drives real impact.
