In the beginning I was ecstatic to join this company.

However, upon joining, I quickly found that some members of the management team are completely incompetent. For this review I will be using the plural term “managers” and words like “they”. It may seem like I mean everyone, however Ive only worked in one department with close ties to a few others so I cannot speak for ALL managers. There ARE some who do a great job. 

Be prepared to be micromanaged, your work being taken credit for, be prepared for department changes with absolutely no explanation of their usefulness (the truth is it feels like the manager is just trying to assign busy-work to make it seem like they are doing something) or even a clear guideline of how the changes work compared to your old setup. 

Some members of the management team have absolutely no clue how to even do the job they’ve been tasked to manage, so don't bother asking for help (there are some who are very helpful though, usually a lower level of manager. Generally i found that managers who get their hands dirty and actively participate in the tasks of their employees are wonderful to work with) 

I quickly found that some managers are in desperate need of an ego check, its clear their “leadership” (if you can even call it that) role, which gives them power over their employees, has gone to their head. 

Do you want to correct a mistake the managers made? Well CLEARLY the managers are examples of employee perfection and unable to make any mistakes. What im trying to get at here is they are completely unable to take constructive criticisms, you WILL be ignored.  

Oh and if a manager decides to “help” the team do a task, they will haphazardly complete their share, although i use “complete” loosely here because they will poorly finish half of their share and expect everyone else to pick up the slack. So be prepared to work around that. 

There are clear double standards. You will see managers doing the very same things they have criticized YOU for doing. “Lead by example” is not present here.

The other employees are a pleasure to work with, everyone is friendly and helpful.

The facility is clean and well taken care of.

Very high and borderline unreasonable goals and targets. Its clear the company only really cares about increasing their profits at the expense of their employees

Be prepared to get burnt out 

Overall, working at Brian Jessel is a mixed bag. However the negatives outweigh the positives and in my own opinion (take it with a grain of salt) I would not recommend people to work here. You WILL have some great days where you feel great, on other days you’ll be exhausted and frustrated. Unfortunately the sum of bad days is greater than the one of good days.

Initially I was excited to work here. The culture of the company is very business driven, not a bad thing, though they lack compassion towards their clients. My position drastically changed in the last month. In the department I was in my supervisor would grow irritable if I was spending too much time easing a client that was frustrated. The company can come off mendacious and thus creates upset clients. The work load is beyond pay grade and you will not get to develop a career here no matter what is promised. Supervisor is duplicitous and nags constantly, will talk behind your back and treats all associates as children - visibly lacks the understanding of how to run a team. Their pretentious behaviour rubs off the wrong way and coaching is non-existent, if you don’t suck up you’ll be voted out. They’ll hire with no relevant job experience which is great if you wanna get into the industry and gain experience, but you won’t last here. I’ve never worked for a company that had as much turn over as this one and there’s a huge reason..

I love actually working on the cars and Coworkers were awesome. however ever since new management came in approx. a year ago, the vibes progressively changed for the worse. You are expected to work OT without proper compensation. They give the Facade of saying they are there to help you, however if you step out of line against there iron fist rule, they will find every reason to let you go. Even if it's a minor or honest mistake you will be punished harshly. They DO NOT have your best interest at heart. all they care about is the bottom line, and if not that, covering there own rear ends from the wrath that could come from up stairs. the workers who have all the liability on there shoulders will be thrown under the bus before any manager takes accountability for it. In short, the 2311 service department "leadership" is morally and ethically bankrupt. At this time, I recommend avoiding this service department if you want to keep your sanity intact.

A typical day at work was dynamic and engaging, involving client interactions, administrative tasks, and problem-solving. I learned how to manage time effectively, improve communication skills, and handle high-pressure situations with professionalism. The management was approachable and supportive, always open to feedback and focused on employee development. The workplace culture was inclusive, respectful, and team-oriented, which made collaboration smooth and enjoyable. The hardest part of the job was meeting tight deadlines during peak times, but it taught me to prioritize and stay focused. The most enjoyable part was the sense of teamwork and achievement when goals were met, along with opportunities for learning and growth through new responsibilities.

A day at work would be to make sure that every customer vehicle will be serviced professionally and delivered on scheduled time. At Brian Jessel BMW, I've learned how much hard work and commitment it takes to operate a successful dealership. Management at this company is top-notch. Always supportive and have the capacity to understand and improve employees when mistakes are made. Co-workers are friendly, hard working, unique individuals that make it that much more worth it to work at this company. The hardest part of the position is when technical equipment malfunctioned, although we manage by working as a team. The best part about the job is the people you work with. It's almost impossible to be unproductive when you are all working together towards the same goal.

Workshop scheduling is poorly managed, with frequent overbooking that often forces technicians to work overtime without pay. Technicians are expected to perform additional unpaid tasks—such as customer videos, inspections, report cards, fluid top-ups, and road tests—while still being held to productivity targets. VIP customers take priority, with ever-increasing tiers of importance, VIP, VVIP, VVVIP…. Daily operations can be chaotic, involving time spent locating vehicles, waiting on parts or car washes, and searching for tools, bays, or parking spaces post-repair.
Despite these challenges, the company hosts events like BBQs, year-end parties, and team-building activities. The HR manager stands out as genuinely kind and supportive

I received phone call from HR team and mentioned that they are looking for some candidate for sales pre-owned role, in which I am very interested. So we kicked off the on line meeting for about 0.5hour and booked a face to face meeting with direct line manager in early Feb.

Everyday, you need prepare well in advance of receiving phone call from clients, or showroom walk in traffic etc. Also you need respond smoothly to the hot leads that are allotted by the company.

The hardest part of the job is to invite your suspect to showroom and manages to convert them into prospects, then to orderings.

I did quite a lot hot deals in the 1st months, eventually, I converted 8 orders, 3 trade in, 8 delivery. Among which, 5 of them were taking finance and most of them bought F&I products as well.

A typical day of work at BJ BMW is depends on the appoinments they have. Some days working here is a chaos and other days was just boring. Management is lack of organized and they expect you to do over and beyond your assigned tasks. The amount of work and pay def not worth. The advancement here depends on your manager like you or not. Not the best place to commit long term for. 

Pro: you can experience nice BMM cars, coworkers are nice and talented, most of the people i work with are friendly and help you out, theyre know what theyre doing, however some dont. 

Cons: low pay, hard to advance and develope your career, manager need improving their profession.

-- if you need a " job" and want to drive nice car this is the job for you, not a place to develope a career
