What is the best part of working at the company?
The client Was the best. can't say the same for my direct report Manager.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
My direct report Manager and one of my Techs. Didn't matter what I did. It wasn't good enough for my direct report and my Tech said I think I know it all. To bad my Tech that was hired by my direct report, has now certification what so ever.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
If you are looking for a high stress job with ridicules deadlines and endless emails and meetings this is a place for you.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Answering client questions and explaining why my Tech is telling them one thing and they find out he 
Wasn't  exactly telling the truth. Trying to do my job .But constantly keeping an eye on my Tech.  All this and constant negativity from my Manager. Was more then happy to get out of that negative environment.

A work place will thrive if management is in a great head space, able to lead a team, handle problems wisely and is well composed. I used to work for a terrible manager and this issue was escalated to upper management, he left, but because BGIS listens, they put him on the "do not rehire" list. This to me shows that BGIS listens to feedback well and works to improve toxic work environments--but like I prefaced, this all stems first from good management; I cannot speak for any other sites, but problem people exist and are employed unfortunately.

I would knock a star down because I feel like compensation is counter-intuitive and doesn't promote keeping in-house team members through compensation. One team member I knew left at a certain rate, but came back not long after, and received a higher rate! This team member wouldn't have gotten this much raise if they stayed.

I like my work environment right now, great leadership, culture and work/life balance.

working from home, being part of a team.

tight deadlines for  invoice matching reports


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
great! They take health and safety seriously!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
constant communications with co-workers via phone, email,  MS team video conferencing. Following through with work orders, dealing with trades people contracted to do work. Processing quotes, invoices, attending online meetings,.
cooperating with procurement and finance departments to attend to life cycle of work orders.

Project Coordinator - contract
• Support Business Specialist in the coordinating / tracking of Retail Service stations across Canada to ESSO sites.  Ensuring Contractors meet specific Maintenance & Repair Guidelines / Specifications in Re-Branding. 
• Coordinate with Contractors on scheduled deliveries of products with limited disruptions to site operations. 
• Ensure Contractors complete timely repairs.  Painting, Lighting, Decal Specs... 
• Provide weekly updates to Management on progression and delays.

Overall a good company to work for. My only problem is the lack of management onsite including health and safety. Work life balance is ok and the company has couselling services.
Communication can be an issue as we are a small contract in a large company that sends out emails on a constant basis that get a quick glance over sometimes missing important informarion. Many of them have no relevance to our facility . Computer help is also a concern because it is like a call center that cannot sometimes help you.

When I was first hired it was a great place to work, coworkers were always helpful and professional, my area Manager was excellent!! Then upper managment made terrible decisions by hiring a area supervisor whose sole purpose was to axe any employee who is he deemed was in violation of company policies ( if he didn't like You)  I seen several employees fired because of his ignorance then after a year upper management promoted this guy to a great opportunity in there head office. 
Go Figure.......

Leaving the job was the best part of working there.

Corporate culture and everyone being fake and backstabbing.

It is toxic and you are treated like a child

Meetings and shmoozing and a small amount of field work

No help from others. You’re on your own. You are told one way but management wants another way. To many workers like to talk bad about you. What is good enough for one person is not good enough for the next. Expectations to do work your not qualified to do

You were just a number to make a profit. Since I left 3 other senior project managers left due to the management culture. Overall the staff were very good to work with but management was another story. 50-60 hr work weeks were not uncommon and always requested to do others work. 

management are a joke, 8 plumbers terminated with no severance pay, no thought given to circumstances of terminated employees after years of service, gone
