A typical day involves, getting in uniform,meet in group for assigned station,discussing any concerns. Washing up and then down to the floor or area to begin production. Making boxes,dumping product in hoppers,feeding bags in machines,grabbing product filled bags from conveyor,boxing bags and stacking on pallets. This is entry level work. You may also be assigned to sanitation. 
When I first started this job we had orientation that promised training,excellent benefits and support. Never saw that. This was actually the most stressful companies I ever worked for.
Management in this company is very poor. There is no real training whatsoever. You are basically on your own. No one really cares about what you say. If you do mention a concern it most likely will be used against you. Many of the supervisors on the floor are young girls that lack social skills and leadership. They can run a machine but that's about it.  Many of the machines break down and slow down production  but regardless you must still fill the orders. It's not uncommon to be yelled at,glared at if something is perceived as your fault. Complaining is a sure way to be let go. If supervisors don't like you for whatever reason you're gone. Lots of profanity and backstabbing. Hard to find true teamwork.  It's basically each man for himself. You will get walked on. favouritism is openly shown.
If they don't like you they will start to target you in dishonest ways and eventually get rid of you. Horrible company.
There are some fun co workers that take off the edge. Brookside foods is a very oppressive place to work. The pay is good,benefits are nice if you ever receive them but there is a price to pay.
I am not one to leave negative reviews and want to believe the best but I felt this must be said.

Very disappointed with the results of working for this company, Since Hershey bought it it has gotten consistently worse. We (40 of us) were hired with the promise of ft with benefits, profit sharing, pension plan and opportunity for advancement, within 11 weeks we are all laid of and put on a casual list. Full time employees were also switch around from days to graves (no one is happy and are worried about losing their jobs), all in all a big let down. Looking for a new job now in order to count on a pay cheque.

Daily challenges kept the work very interesting. Learned a new system, and worked under a solid management with open and friendly co-workers.

Brookside was an AMAZING company to work for before Hershey bought them, then laid most of the office staff off.  My ratings are pre-Hershey, I have no idea what it's like to work there now.

I loved working with this company. Everyone was great. The hours were dependable. Management was always available to help when needed. Would recommend for anyone to work there.

Was good until they shut down. I've got no complaints not sure what else to say they arent open anymore moved bit sure why I'm having to write a review
