Brunswick Bramalea Lanes

Brunswick was a great job to get entry level skills for customer service and work experience in general. It does promote people within the company but only after they have worked there a very long time. Employee referrals were very good, and i never had many problems booking off days. Downsides would be working until 2am-3am on weekends and if having a midday shift, not being able to leave until the next person had come in to count then put their till in the register, then you have to count your own till and stay until it's balanced with all the matching debit receipts and so on. So if someone usually picks you up form work, don't tell them to pick you up right when your shift was scheduled. Also, you would only get 1 30min break for a 9-hour shift (you get 1 half hour break for every over 5 hours you work), and no 15 minute breaks which is hard when you're on your feet the whole day. I liked how we were held accountable and given responsibility, but some of the management made it intolerable. Favouritism among employees by managers is very apparent, But i did make some great friends there. The work is very high paced which is nice because time flies.

Business can get very busy and more times the place is understaffed...or they have too many staff working on slow days. The staff is not trained properly so you can have a bunch of people working but none even know what they are doing most of the time...if they trained their employees properly they would be able to promote them..instead they bring people from outside the business to manage/run the day to day stuff and they dont even know what theyre doing either...no room for growth for employees..most of them are miserable and dislike their jobs...dont expect to have a life outside of work...request for time off barely gets approved..overall I would not recommend anybody to work here...

I worked the front counter and handled sales and bowling shoe rentals. Also answered all customer enquiries about ongoing promotions and birthday party bookings. The manager is very nice and all other colleagues are mainly students so they are all easy to talk to casually. Weekends can get busy, especially during times that specials are running but the work isn't very demanding. Working here is genuinely very fun.

They tend to hire lots of people yet they always under schedule so you’ll end up being over worked to the point it hurts and it’s not worth the money. The management is terrible they schedules are often all over the place and aren’t often thought out but they do tend to work to ur availability. The building itself is very worn out to the point the sinks are falling of the walls and ovens on the verge of dieing. There’s no training your just thrown into it. When you do well there is no signs off rewards or recognition they only see you aren’t good enough at all and your replaceable.

If you enjoy being disrespected every shift then this is the job for you! I have never experienced such an unprofessional work environment. Honestly the only good thing I can say about this place is that they did a pretty decent job at making sure you got the hours you asked for. Other than that, management is a joke and will gossip about everyone and call you an idiot right in front of customers.

great place to gain work experience. comfortable place to work at and gain friends. employees are amazing to work with just employers need to reevaluate themselves and reconsider who they promote to managers and shift leaders.

The company recognizes hard work and awards it accordingly. Hours were available if you were willing to work them. Over all, I enjoyed my time at Brunswick but I would not recommend it to anyone who's looking for something serious.

Brunswick was a very beneficial job. This job teaches you a variety of skills and is a great experience as a first time job.

Got to bowl for free and enjoyed working here cuz of the fast paced and fun environment would have stayed if I didint have my own personal life issues and it didint pay enough for me to live off being on my own
