My experience as a medical secretary was extremely disappointing. Management operates in a top-down, authoritarian style-barking orders with no regard for staff input or well-being. There is zero communication, even when it involves urgent or critical matters. Promises were made regarding raises or changes, but they were simply lies.

There is absolutely no sense of being valued or appreciated within the organization. The pay is far below industry standards, and efforts go unnoticed. The only redeeming factor was the camaraderie among the frontline staff, who support each other like family.

Unless you're looking for an example of what kind of workplace to avoid, I would not recommend this job to anyone.

Very discriminatory workplace and terrible training for new employees. Would NEVER recommend Brunswick Medical to anyone. Do not care when you’re injured. The staff is very rude and not welcoming to new employees. The staff team ignores you the whole day like you’re not there. They do not make you feel included. The team and supervisor puts the blame on you when you did nothing wrong and weren’t trained properly by anyone. Not a nice team and very disrespectful towards new people who have more experience and knowledge in the medical field.

The Brunswick Medical Center is a perfect place for one to immerse themselves in the health care industry. There is a lot to learn on the job, training is hands-on with staff members who are seasoned in their field.
Doctors and nurses are knowledgeable and are always there to guide you.
Great perks include an on-site gym and employee group benefits.


The centre is well equipped and well maintained. Typically it is a fast paced environment. I enjoy the busyness and assisting patients.  
This job requires a lot of multi-tasking and compassion.

The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to help the patients.

Understaffed leading to over worked, under paid employees. The turn over makes it difficult to imagine staying here long term. The higher under qualified staff and not much change and development. The management, especially, the clinic manager is amazing. 

Pay is horrible, very stressful job and they do not pay you enough for everything you do. No advancement, management is horrible, you gotta pick up the mess from months before. Only good thing coworkers and doctors are very nice.

There is no typical day at work. Responsibilities vary on a daily basis but limited the a range of tasks to be competed by all medical archivists.

The Brunswick Medical Centre is a very warm and inviting place to work. However, there isn't any room to grow and promotions/ salary increases are rare. The staff works VERY hard to make sure the patients get the services requested.

The doctors and patients are a blessing to work with. But the management team does not care for their staff when they have issues. It's like every man for himself and everyone is replaceable.

I enjoyed reaching out to local CLSC's to build a pediatric clinic to well over 4, 000 patients. 

I set in place a Childhood vaccination program with the Sante et Services Sociaux Quebec.
