Buchner Manufacturing

I joined Buchner Manufacturing during the pandemic and so far, they've done a great job of taking care of employees, making sure we're safe and healthy, and navigating through the current times we're living in. They're really focused on strengthening the company and hiring a strong team to lead the way forward. The workload is manageable, but can be a lot to keep up with during the summer and fall (aka busiest times of the year). There is a sense of community among the company and there's employees who have been with the company 5 years, 10-20 years, and even some that are 30 years plus!

The company is also really active in each community they have a store in and believe in giving back. Despite the company's size, it feels like one team working toward a common goal and no matter where you are in the organization, you're making a difference.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The management is horrible, they give you zero feedback, even if you’re competent they treat you like garbage

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Horrible, every one is talking about each other behind other peoples backs. Zero camaraderie  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Boring, standing in the same spot for 8 hours putting eavestrough elbows in bags

What is the best part of working at the company?
Family run business that cares about their employees.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Depending on your shift and department the summer can be very busy and somewhat overwhelming.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great work environment and company culture.

Promises aren’t kept, long term employees don’t get paid enough. New employees start at very close to the same pay as employees that have been there for 10 years. Problems aren’t dealt with until it’s too far gone. To get an answer to any question it takes far to long and you have to hunt down for an answer. 

Family run company that is still operating with old business practices and technology. Pay scale, work life balance, vacation time and benefits haven't kept up with today's climate. Several supervisors and managers don't have the required education, skills, experience and knowledge for their positions. Working here is like being stuck in the mid eighties. 

Everyone has been quite nice to work with, even feel alright cracking a joke with management. I'm a student and they were willing to accommodate my school schedule which, has been a saving grace. 

Down side is it's minimum wage, but that's to be expected from the nature of the work.

Great place with different avenues for advancement. Everyone is family to the family. A little stressful with current market conditions. Management keeps staff fairly informed

Unique place to work. Lots of good people but management is centred around the family. Can be frustrating when trying to get things done. If you are happy being a labourer this is a good company to work for. If you want to manage a branch it can be challenging.

Management always was on top of everything very organized. Never a bad day the workers are always happy trying to make the day go by as fast as possible while still being productive

A great family business to work at. Great workplace culture and supportive management. The company is very open to ideas and suggestions. The benefits offered by the company are fantastic.
