Buck or Two Plus

Fast work, you're dealing with a lot of customers and you need to be a quick thinker. Your math skills definitely go up a notch considering you're constantly running to the cash register to help the next customer, so you have to be quick to have your math skills ready to be used. Then when things have calmed down you're assigned to where to do your small odd jobs, such as filling up the air in balls or stocking an area, tidying, cleaning, or merchandising an aisle. The management was fantastic, you were treated with such kindness and understanding, they truly took the time to listen to your concerns and figure out a quick and easy solution that did the trick. Your co-workers were almost as close to being your employment family, if you needed a hand with something, someone was always there to help you out. The hardest part of the job is most definitely being on your feet all day, but if you needed a five minute break to rest your feet, you'd just have to say so. Last but not least, the most enjoyable part of the job was making those remarkable balloon bouquets. As an artist myself, you could really express your creativity when creating a bouquet. When adding such perfect details, you could truly create a piece of work, and the customers love it. Overall, the employment was such a fantastic place to work at, all the employees were your family, even to go as far as buying you a cake, and singing happy birthday to you.

Just like I said its only good for students looking to make a few dollars here and there. Management was horrible though (especially if its family owned). 

The best part of my job was helping customers and working (packing items) with fellow co-workers. The buck or two I worked at had very nice people working there. The management could give a rats a*s about you. They would punish you if you asked for more hours or even asked to have a day off.( if you want certain days off for school...forget it) Some people would not be scheduled for weeks because of this. That also happened to me at that time.

The hardest part of the job was when we were  majorly understaffed and we had to do balloons for walk in customers. Customers just wouldn't understand. its hard to run the till and take orders when its just you alone. Sometimes we would have only ONE till working.

The only thing i miss working there was my co-workers( very charming people), the location (very close to home), and its a small store.

Got an email for an interview at 7pm on a Wednesday night asking me to come in the next day for 3pm. I kindly told him or her that would not work and I was available Monday. Nothing. Not even sure if they were expecting me to be there the next day so I followed up the Thursday morning. Nothing. Sorry, I'm busy, this is not the only company that wants to meet with me. I have 9 interviews scheduled from the wednesday to the friday. But I am sure they will find someone who has no interviews and no other company wants who can show up the next day when Askay emails them while they are having dinner, because that is who you want right? The person with zero experience and no other company wants. Im sure that is the perfect fit for this buisness nobody has ever heard of.

A typical day at work would include me putting up any new merchandise that had come in store, working at cash, keeping the store clean, putting back any merchandise that was out of its proper spot and working at the ballon area. I learned how to quickly and efficiently do any and all tasks. Although my co-workers were fun and easy to get along with and work with, the management was the opposite. Although very nice like my co workers, the management team was very unorganized. They would call me in last minute (the day of) if someone else cancelled, they would change my shift the day of to a totally different day. The hardest part of the job was stocking up the merchandise because there was alot of heavy lifting and climbing involved. The most enjoyable part of the job was working with people around my age group.

My typical day at work would be ensuring items in the aisles including balloons and drinks are stocked and organized, keep track and ensure balloons are prepared for preorders or helping customers with anything they need assistance with. 

Working in retail has taught me a lot of things such as working with individuals of all ages or abilities, expanding my creativity, how to multitask efficiently, and many more.

I have worked with many customers and employees while working at Buck or Two Plus. All of my co-workers are very responsible when it comes to working in retail. We all have great knowledge on how to deal with certain cases such as working with a customer on balloons, a customer asking questions about certain items/products. We will try our best to help anyone with anything.

I enjoyed working at buck or two, the management was great and the other employees made you feel welcomed. I learned how to make balloons and fill balloon orders for customers. During a typical day I would clean and open the store, then help customers find their way around the store, put out stock, price stock, and help the cashier if there was a line. The hardest part of the job was dealing with customers that were shady or made you feel uncomfortable. The best part of my day was making a customer happy by showing them a product they have been looking for or making their day better by listening to their stories.

Not a lot of responsibilities 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Whatever responsibilities you do have MUST be done in an EXTREMELY specific way or else the manager will become upset  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Chill, but also not. Again, there aren’t a ton of responsibilities, but the ones that are assigned can be VERY stressful

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy for maybe a total of 45 minutes during an entire 8 hour shift. So, it’s up to the employee to find things to do. If you ask the manager, he will say to figure it out yourself even if you don’t know what needs to be done .

A typical day would be opening the store, greeting customers with a smile and hello.  Helping customers find the products they require.
Customer service is number one.  Co-workers were great to work with.  Owners need to be more involved with their workers.
If you require a day off for an appointment it reflects on your next week schedule (reduction of hours).. Which i think is not proper management.  If you are a hard worker and go over and above for the company you should be appreciated.

Not a great place to work as you are expected to show up 15 minutes before your shift without pay and if closing stay until all closing duties are finished, also without pay. You are given 30 minutes or less to mop the whole store and if you don’t finish you are told to hurry up. Room for advancement in the sense that you may be asked to become key holder but there is no pay raise. Decent place to work for a short time if you are okay with working hard without proper pay

Giving star standard service for the guests/customers is one of the important things that i've learned, working as a teamwork in my co-workers is the best thing that i enjoyed as part of my job. I dont have any idea for the hardest part of the job because I believe through trainings and experience we learned no matter how the work is hard. About the management, their good but for me ,life is so unfair, no matter how hard you do your work from better to best, they played as "favoritism" to other co-workers.
