Buffalo David Bitton

Designers at Buffalo work autonimously on their own design category.  We were each solely responsible to follow up with factories to ensure that samples/fabrics/trims are on time and up to our quality standards. We produced 6 seasons per year so we had a very tight delivery schedule.  Overtime was optional, but I often felt the need to stay late due to heavy work load. Time management was the most challenging part of the job since we were expected to handle a large work load under a very tight schedule.  I was mainly the outerwear and woven shorts designer, however due to employee turnover I was expected to take care of extra categories for several seasons (such as woven shirts, jersey tops, sweater knits).   I was given these extra categories because my manager felt confident in my ability to take on more work, and buyers and merchandisers were pleased with the work I was producing. 
My favourite part of the job was participating in sales meetings.  This was when we first fully saw the collection as a whole and were able to see the reactions of the sales team.  I find it very rewarding when the collection is well received and it helps me to improve my designs when I receive feedback on the finished product.

A typical day would for myself would be either opening the store in the morning and getting the store ready for customers. Furthermore, I would be given a daily budget to meet and would work with my staff to meet the budget. I've learned a lot from this job, perhaps the biggest thing is how to talk to people and how to provide excellent customer service. My management team was wonderful, in which we were always on the same page and all did whatever would could to help customers. The co - workers were also wonderful, each of them outgoing and eager to help the company and customers. The hardest part of the job was the commission in which everyone was given a certain percentage of their sales for each week and made it really competitive. That being said the most enjoyable part of this job was in fact the commission as everyone competed in a healthy way and it was fun to see how people improved.

A typical day of work consisted of greeting customers and figuring out their needs when walking into the store. sales associates  were to work with the customers in introducing them to everything close to what they were looking for. I learned that communication is key. Once you know what the customer desires, it is very simple to be able to gain a big sale. The management at buffalo were very friendly, they helped the sales associate grow in their positions. The co-workers at Buffalo are also very friendly. We had a great bond with each other and grew very attached. The hardest part of the job was organizing the store once promotion dates were over. The most enjoyable part of the job was when I was able to mean sale goals set for the end of my shift.

First job working in the fashion industry, straight out of college. I was hired by buffalo after completing my internship with one of their sister companies. Big Mistake.Being new at buffalo and not having experience is horrible, i worked apart of a team that gave me attitude any time i would ask questions concerning a computer software that buffalo used. I felt very uncomfortable, the people i had to work with was out for themselves not realizing that a team is as strong as their weakest link. 
I never dealt with such a toxic work environment in my life and i've been working for 15 years.

my typical day at work is considered making daily sales goals, managing the team. The hardest part of my job is visual... store flips and changing it around it can be difficult and hard work. My co- workers are wonderful we all get along great and are very friendly. What I have learned is to deal with customers on a daily basis, working in a quick environment and great social skills with people. The most enjoyable part is working with my co workers as a team, they are amazing people and we are very good together.

A typical day at Buffalo jeans is helping clients look for what clothes best describe them. I learned that it's not easy working in retail. The management is set up well, along with good and friendly coworkers. The hardest part of the job is when you are working long hours and your shift isn't over. The most enjoyable part of the job is working with friendly and jolly coworkers.

Working here was a good experience for someone newly out of school.  The managment of the design department was made up of relatives of the owner of the company and they didn't always possess the necessary skills or fashion education.  Low salary, low benefits and no culture.

Co-workers are super friendly. Learned how to work in retail.
Typical day at work would be putting out stock from collections, helping out clients for their size or what they are looking for that matches their style.

Typical day would start with counting all registers and ensuring money is accounted for. Second priority is to work with sales team to meet daily and monthly budgets. While also ensuring that proper stock of products is available for customers

People are great to work with . Nice environment . Able to take responsibility in day to day affairs . Next in charge to the Director of I.T.

Because of change , everything changes as will our jobs here which makes it sad
