In my experience, this was one of the most unhealthy work environments I have encountered. What is presented as a close, family-oriented culture felt more like a system designed to discourage disagreement and keep employees compliant through fear.

During my time there, I received no meaningful onboarding or training. I was given very few tools or clear directions, yet was expected to deliver flawless results from the start. When mistakes inevitably happened, the response I witnessed and experienced was not coaching or constructive feedback. It was being called out loudly and aggressively in front of the entire team. In my view, the intent was not to correct but to intimidate.

I found the standards to be deeply inconsistent. Employees were held to extremely high expectations, while leadership, in my experience, operated without the same accountability. The same types of errors that would result in public reprimand for staff seemed to carry no consequences at the management level. Concerns I raised were dismissed. I never felt heard.

Leadership was frequently absent for extended periods, and in my experience, the operation was left without clear direction during those times. When leadership returned, responsibility for any issues that had developed was placed on the team rather than on the lack of oversight.

The turnover during my time there was significant, which I believe reflected how people were treated. In my experience, loyalty to leadership was rewarded above competence or integrity. Those who pushed back on decisions or raised concerns were treated very differently from those who did not.

I also observed what I believed to be operational and compliance gaps at various levels, some of which concerned me.

I would not recommend this workplace to anyone looking for professional growth, respectful management, or a healthy team environment.

My time with Bugaboo was very disheartening. 

The role itself was not at all what I expected and felt entirely unreasonable but what made it truly difficult was the atmosphere. In my experience, the conduct of certain staff created an overtly hostile environment, made worse but continuously contradictory direction and feedback. It was impossible to feel supported, respected, or even confident in what was expected from day one. 

I truly feel the only positive outcome was learning what I won’t be tolerating from an office moving forward. While I hope future employees have a very different experience from mine, I’d caution them to manage their expectations. 

The bet thing about landscaping itself, is working outside as long as you don't mind the constant weather changes in Calgary. I had the pleasure of working a long side many labourers at Bugaboo landscaping, and I learned a lot. However, the management could use some work. Pay does not reflect the amount of work you do, and there is a serious lack of communication. As well as no overtime pay and no benefits. There is no incentives to working with Bugaboo.

Had to negotiate last check, Changed wage once i quit i was hired at 25HR once i quit boss boss decided to change my wage to 15hr NO ONE DOSE LANDSCAPING ESPECIALLY CREW LEAD FOR 15 HR did nothing but argue with having to pay me my last check, Did anything to deduct money off final check, Completely unprofessional i have never worked for such a unprofessional employer! Alberta Services NEEDS to look Into this company !!!

Great team, I enjoyed the work. but there were no lunch breaks, owner was always gone out of province, really long hours (14-16 hr days sometimes) with no breaks. 
       Pay was docked if there was a dr. appointment or anything important with family (even if it was a funeral) if we missed work. I liked the team but not the management.

As Construction Frmn I oversaw the hiring of staff, quoted, planned and procured product for a wide range of jobs. Sodding yards, building fences, decks, patios and retaining walls.

Winter was snow removal, plowing, shovelling and salting commercial and residential properties to ensure a safe environment for pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

Great people to work for. Learned  a lot from them. Great experience

Like any other landscaping company, the odd hours

Work environment was fantastic. Everyone knew their roles 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Fast paced most of the time....

If you like the out doors and landscaping great place money's good. Management is horrible the crew members are reliable and hard workers but Management needs a real shake up there unorganized unprofessional manipulative and don't ever think about quitting before you have the money in your account cause they will screw you in the end.

I was mostly on call and not needed often, they mostly made me go through tedious tasks that nobody else wanted to do, they environment is friendly and the private spaces are nice too, they also allow you to bring your pets and have snacks there as well.

Got hired on as a cash person being promised salary. After 2.5 years I was let go without any warning and without being contacted by my boss. If ou work for the corporate office it's good other than that be carefull of the franchise owners
