I don’t know about other locations but the port credit location is the absolute best. Great boss and managers. Very friendly staff. You’ll feel so welcomed right away. Generally, the workload matches your pay and if you feel like you’re being overworked, don’t be afraid to ask for a little raise because you’ll most likely get it if you’re a good, responsible, and hard worker, along with being promoted to a team leader. It is a very fast paced environment especially during the summer and it can be intimidating if this is your first job, but there will always be staff around to help you out and make sure things are running smoothly. The store itself can get super cold during winters and super hot during the summers, sometimes it’s unbearable, so make sure you’re always prepared and dressed appropriately (speaking of dressing, there’s no dress code, all you need to have is the burrito boyz shirt on and you can wear whatever pants you’d like, short shorts included). The best way to describe the workplace environment is; imagine you’re in your favourite class, surrounded by your friends, and a chill teacher. Overall, this was my favourite place that I’ve worked at and I wish I could’ve stayed much longer than I did. It is such a safe and comfortable place, almost intoxicatingly comforting  that you don’t ever wanna leave no matter what. Or maybe I just have attachment issues. That’s a story for another day. 

This job was my first part time job, and I can honestly say it was such a stepping stone for me. I started as a 17 year old girl riddled with social anxiety and self-esteem problems, but it has helped me grow into a confident and comfortable person. Management was exceptionally understanding and flexible regarding my school and social life, and they always respected days I requested off.I was never worried about losing my job seeing as my boss was understanding when it came to mistakes and was willing to assign management to work with new employees on getting better. With that said, we did struggle with management, and as I worked my way up the ladder, I noticed that sometimes the drama present at this place was high-school like, but it never deterred me from going in and having a good shift. Overall my coworkers were like a second family and we tried our best to resolve any sort of drama as quickly as we could. The downside for me with this job was simply the pay. You start at minimum and raises do not come often, and not when they are deserved. I would often have to bring it up to my boss, and then he would consider it, but he never showed initiative when it came to giving raises or acknowledging a person's good and hard work. I love this place, and it has set me up for any job I may acquire in the future.

A typical day at work would be preparing/prepping the food, counting the cash, taking orders, making orders, cleaning and etc. Honestly it's the same everyday, however I enjoy each shift because of how fun my co-workers are! From the time I started to the time I had to leave, I learned quite a lot then I expected! I got more comfortable with talking to customers and I made friends with some of them. I learned how to take care of customer complaints, properly count the cash, clean (more) properly and be more assertive. The management had its ups and down, they would sometimes take some things to seriously or not at all but they're awesome (and still new) and I've become great friends with them. 

My co-workers are awesome, maybe some were a little ehh but I got along with everyone just fine and they've become such great friends of mine. 

The hardest part of the job would probably be the rush hours where we're short on staff. It has happened quite a few times and it would get frustrating when one of us is too slow or inexperience. BUT we always manage to successfully complete the rush. 

The most enjoyable part of the job would probably be when the customers get surprised then happy when I remember their order. I usually tell them that I make it as a memory game for myself and then it would turn into a mini game between the customer and I.

I loved working there. The customers were hilarious and it was a really laid back environment. The workers are scary at first, but awesome once you get to know them. If you do well, you earn cards for free food, which is cool. Otherwise, you get 50% off which is also cool.
It's very fast-paced and not for the weak of heart... The training wasn't great if you're structure orientated like me. They kind of just throw you to the dogs and hope you do well.

The management was not great... At all. I wouldn't recommend working there solely for this reason.

At lot of stuff happened to the employees and myself that I cannot share. But essentially, the owner of the location that I worked at was very unfair and I lost a lot of money that I shouldn't have.

If you are very aggressive and aren't the kind of person to let ANYONE take advantage of you, and are able to work well on your own, I would recommend it. If you stand up for yourself there, no one will take advantage of you. But if you can't, then it's not the place for you.

I wasn't trained thoroughly by the manager when I first started, was trained how to wash dishes and do the cash register but was left to fend for myself when it came to learning how to be on table. I stayed because my coworkers are really nice and welcoming.
As more people leave to find new opportunities the flaws in the management and training system come out as the new hires are thrown to Team Leaders or people who don't know how to train, to get trained and the managers complain about the lack of training the new hires have.
There are rules/guidelines that not everyone is made aware of, and when a complaint comes a handful of staff are confused as they were never told about these rules/guidelines but the other staff are aware of these rules. Sometimes instead of letting everyone know, it's just petty comments behind peoples backs.
One of the male managers is creepy and hits on the new female hires, no matter their age.

a typical day at work was, taking orders at the cash register and over the phone, preparing the orders for customers in restaurant and customer pick ups, also some food deliveries.
I also unloaded the truck and organized the refrigerator, dry goods shelves, and beverage fridge in our store.
washing, drying and putting the dishes away.
general in house cleaning (wiping tables and chairs, sweep/mop floors, clean and organize topping station)
My -at the time i worked there were and still are awesome, I met my best friend there.
Managers were friendly, caring, patient and understanding to all employees and customers regardless of the situation.
The hardest part of the job was when my shifts got messed up going from straight days to 1-2 night shifts then back to working 2 weeks of days etc.
The most enjoyable part of the job were my co-workers and managers as well as all the customers i got to meet.

I would open the store at 7 am and make fresh Guacamole for the entire day, set up table (condiments, veggies, tortillas etc) and clean the lobby.
I would count the starting cash and make sure we were stocked for the entire day and sign the "count sheet"
I learned how to interact with many different types of people (Large groups of people, Companies, Picky eaters like small children etc)
Management was very helpful throughout the day at all times!
My co-workers were fun to work with and extremely helpful (teamwork)
The hardest part of my job was making an order for a banking function in which they ordered over 2000 Burrito's in less than an hour! (But it was such an accomplishment for all of us at the end)
The most enjoyable part was seeing how happy the customers were with the service and the quality of the food they received!

I worked at a Toronto location for a few years. It had its ups and downs, but overall it was a great place to work. A normal, typical day consisted of coming in at 8am to start the prep until the rest of the staff started at 10am. Working at this company I learned how to work well with a team to get everything done effectively. Following my owners lead I learned to become a great leader, and took on a bigger role supervising the staff, mostly the females. I think the hardest part of the job was figuring out how to arrange groups of staff that would work well together. Creating strong teams was challenging and required a lot of patience. The most enjoyable part of my job was working with the team I had. I never felt like I was above anyone because we all worked well together once we finally understood one another. Overall it was a great place to work but it was time for me leave and branch out.

At this job there was a lot of team work needed,when it got very busy we had to work together to serve at our highest quality.

The only issue I personally had was that I worked over night hours from 7-4am
Then after 4 am we had to clean and by the time you got home you couldn't sleep because the sun was coming up

A challenge I found was trying to balance a healthy life style while working such late hours. This teaches you to be on schedule and to make sure you are meeting what you need individual as well with work.

Our co-workers were very friendly and outgoing people.

The management was un-equal this could cause people to quit the job, due to schedule conflicts, for instance the manager changing the schedule last minuet without notifying you.

ive put more then 2 years of my life into this company, working more the 40 hours a week being in management for about a year and a half (running the overnight shifts) and ive only been paid 1 dollar above min wage, ive been disrespected, bullied, and harassed by the superior managers, when i tried to report this to my boss/ owner of the location i was told that he pays those people a lot of money so that issues like that wouldnt happen and that resulted in said managers getting even more mad at me, they stared screwing me over on shifts, and cutting my hours, and becoming even more bitter towards me, i then told my boss again if these things went uncorrected that i would be forced to make a complaint to the labour board, he then called me screaming and threatened to fire.
