I loved my job and worked with an amazing consumers. I learned so much and felt so rewarded in what I did to support my consumers through my time with them.  Working hands on was a real joy and I wish I could have stayed. I truly loved my job.
However this is all the positive I can say.  Management is toxic through and through. People will loose their jobs without just cause just so another Intervenor who is friend with management can get a full time position. 
If you have an issue with being bullied management do nothing and only add to the problem. And almost everyone gets bullied by management. You are bullied and threatened in to picking up extra shifts. There is no work life balance at all. You are always at their beckon call. If you call in sick or for a personal day you are expected to make up the hours then bullied if you can't pick up extra.  They burn out their staff and don't even care.  There is absolutely no appreciation or recognition for hands on staff. You are a cog in their machine to abuse and wear put and when you can't take any more, they send you packing even if you have a valid doctor's note for time off.

I absolutely loved working here, for the consumers, and the bonds I’ve developed with them. I also really loved working with my teammates and ISC. HOWEVER! Upper management does not respect their employees. The ball is dropped a lot, upper management does not take responsibility for their actions, and most times aren’t held accountable for their actions. After your probationary period; be sure that you keep an eye on your paystubs your ensure your benefits and such are being taken from your paystub. If you have a family to support, you probably should have a significant other that also works as well, living paycheque to paycheque is a real struggle here. 

The upside though, you will have a good team to work with here on the frontlines, and family members will give you a warm welcome. You will get to have an opportunity that not many other people will have, and you won’t find an experience like this anywhere else. You’ll also develop friendships within this company with your frontline people that are long-lasting. The job itself is amazing. Upper management. Not so much. 

The job itself is great. So neat to gain new knowledge and understanding of an individual who is both deaf and blind. It was a challenging and rewarding position. Company training events were frequent and catered and travel time paid - that was a benefit. 

Unfortunately, the company lacked the education/knowledge and nerve to play their role when needed. Management and above were hesitant to take on new challenges when it concerned upsetting families to ensure intervenors safety. They were not good with conflict handling or conflict resolution. They were unable to set standards to ensure and safe and healthy workplace while ensuring the safety of the consumer, while balance the families desires and wishes.

Sad to say, but like many support agencies theses days its not a great place to work..... poor management is one of the main problems. Clients parents also seem to run the agency and you receive very little professional support. Managers are bosses not leaders and couldn't step in to do front line work (know very little about the actual support jobs) and will do anything to avoid stepping in and doing work. Horrible work, life balance. Always understaffed (probably due to how horrible it is run). Workers are not treated as though they are valuable employees doing important jobs. Very unprofessional workplace environment between co-workers. Toxic working place.... avoid!!

CDBA is a great place to work for, whether your looking for ft, pt or just casual work. I have been working there for a few years now and I absolutely love coming into work everyday. First of all-  you work with some pretty fantastic consumers that are an inspiration to me, everyone of them are unique, smart individuals who teach me that anything is possible. Then there is the staff and management who are all there to help each other motivate, encourage and we all learn off each other. There is always new training that is available, pay is definitely decent and there's always opportunities  for advancement. Like any job, some days are pretty hectic and busy but the good overrules the bad.. The job is fun and exciting and you'll learn something new every day as every day is different.

CDBA is a great organization to work for that provides competitive wages, benefits to part time and full time staff and excellent training. The organization has gone through a great deal of growth in the last few years and sometimes there are growing pains for management that come with this, however overall the management team is strong and does their absolute best to provide strong intervention services to the people we support. And the people we support are incredible people! There is lots of great programming and fun events that happen for everyone to participate in. This is a busy place to work and great for people with a positive attitude, who like to work hard on shift and strive to do great work every day.

I've worked for CDBA since 2015 and this is a great organization! I thoroughly enjoy the work that I do and the people we support. The organization is busy and fast paced but it is also never boring! I've learned a great deal about deafblindness and Intervenor Services and I believe in the value of the support and services we provide to individuals who are deafblind. Working in Paris allows me to see the impact we are making on the lives of these individuals on a day to day basis, which is incredibly rewarding. The compensation and training are very good. I highly recommend this organization as a great place to work.

Great work but the office politics were terrible. I worked in two homes and the both house supervisors were notoriously late, but it was ok because the clients didn't mind (With some prodding from said supervisors) I  was consistantly asked by supervisors to out right lie to clients because it was easier then explaining that not everyone likes the same thing.  The worst part was you would be blaimed for things the client did (like hug strange children in public). Even if the client knew better and had a history of inappropriate touching.

Wow after reading some of the reviews I can't believe that not one person said anything about breaks, or the lack of .. You will not get breaks or even a lunch break working here. You are considered a house worker.. So your degree means nothing. They hire people with no educational background and no degree and pay them the same amount as you. These employees have no respect for people with disabilities, they are only there for a pay cheque .I have never ever worked for a company that is so  poorly managed. Upper management is worse.. No respect.. No support..

Supervisors and management very supportive and genuinely want you to succeed in your career
