The work is good, always changing. Rarely work on the same things.
you are expected to know all the little things in school that you were told not to worry about, such as welding symbols and preheat temperatures. They expect incredibly high quality work, and a very average pay rate. As a journeyperson you will cap out at $30hr, and will never receive any more than that unless you are promoted to a lead hand. There are no bonuses, poor benefits, no comapny BBQs, no RRSPs, no pension, you dont get paid for your last break. This isnt a place you spend your whole life, just another stepping stone between where you are now, and where you are trying to go. Dont settle.

I worked for CARE Ind. For a long time. The pay was low for a Journeyman. They have project managers that have no business being in that position. They have good and bad years, but as soon as it turns bad, they dump guys with a snap of a finger. Especially right around Christmas, more specifically welders. They have a good safety program but will put the dollar above safety. The floor guys were expected to clean washrooms.  I enjoyed my time there I miss the work, but do not miss the poor management, how cheap they are and the fact they will bring in a new guy for a wage extremely higher than others that have been there for them for a decent amount of time. 

Guys we’re good management sucks and doesn’t care about their workers, most guys hate it there. If they think it’s going to be slow they will terminate peoples employment before the 3 month and rehire so they don’t have to pay severance in the future. Very little direction and hire friends that are under qualified over real skill.

Don’t let the ad fool you, you’re not a mechanic. You are there to assemble poorly engineered batch plants. When the orders stop they will clean house and drop you like a bad habit. Pay is horrible, supply your own coveralls, tools, consumables, parts. Only good thing about CARE is there are some fantastic people on the floor to work with outside of the foreman. Don’t waste your time.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Work can be unsteady as many shops are. Once a project is finished, if there isn't one already lined up, expect layoffs

Typical day 8-12 hours helping welder, good hard employment. Fast paced but caring work environment, welders and supervisor always willing to help. Everyone cares about safety of everyone on the floor. Learned a lot and felt safe and important employed there.

You know what the job is .Great work hours . Always leaning advancing getting more modern . Management treated great lunch on Saturdays an when over time .It was to bad it was sold pervious owner was great!!

Management does not care for they employees. I only worked there three months due to a client backing out, which is understandable in this economy. I hold no grudge to be being laid off however management was terrible in my time there

co-workers were enjoyable
breaks are NOW paid
hardest part is working faster and being more productive than co-workers and repairing other welders' error

Care industries tries to be fair and professional in all ways towards it's employees . They are safety conscience, and seem to care genuinely about their staff.
