What is the best part of working at the company?
Meals and beverages are provided.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The wages are lowest in the industry. Upper management are harsh with criticism and do not provide opportunity for employees to improve.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Lots of drama and gossip. Staff turnover is frequent, and workers are often left doing to work of two people because staff have bailed.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Routine and somewhat predictable, insofar as the job position requires. More and more often lately we’re thrown a curve ball because staff shortage. If wages were more competitive, perhaps there wouldn’t be so much staff turnover.

Under the old management - you were at least appreciated. They are incredibly short staffed now. They allow in residents that are far beyond retirement care and ultimately their care needs suffer because of this. Management only cares if there is a body in the building. If you want to shine and meet your full potential and make a living wage - do yourself a favor and work absolutely ANYWHERE  else. You are a number here and so are the residents. The schedule only comes put 2-4 days in advance because they don't value your life or time. You will never get a raise here.

While the work here is fulfilling, to be sure, and the residents are wonderful, the communication among staff and management is poor at best. There is a lack in employee support which leads to burnout and confusion, and in my role I felt overworked and underpaid, not to mention under appreciated. The owners are sweet and work very hard to provide the residents with a good experience, but due to underlying issues, they are becoming understaffed and staff are run ragged trying to fill in the gaps. 

Everything about this place is terrible. Management doesn’t listen to a single word or criticism offered. During a snow storm on Christmas Eve when every other employee called in, I was forced to come in because they offered to pick me up and left me with no way home. You’re just a body, they do not care that you’re making 30k a year after taxes at best. No staff, 80% of the staff aren’t helpful even when you are at the rare time fully staffed. Burn out is real, stress is real. Absolutely dreadful.

This is the best place I have worked at in my many years as a nurse. 
Management is friendly, helpful and always willing to listen. They give us meals during our shifts, medical benefits and a paycheque that won't leave me homeless!
Staff and residents are treated like family, with birthday cards and other lovely surprises to help us through our days during covid! 

Anyone who has negative things to say about working here clearly left on a bad note and don't realize a great job when they see it.  




Castle Peak does a great job at retiring the lazy and weak links of staff in order to further excel a positive experience for both staff, residents, as well as their families. Though problems do come up in any work environment, management does a great job at tackling problems head-on and provides support at all times. The fast paced environment makes for quick shifts. Overall, a great place to work with flexible hours, fair pay, and an understanding team. Making the residents happy is the best reward.

This place is the worst. They act like it's family run and everyone cares about eachother but that's simply not the truth. The general manager is rude and thinks he has power over everyone and is above the law. The nursing manager does nothing but rearrange her office and acts like she's put in a good days work when she switches someone's shifts. They make promises they can't keep. I beg of you to work some where else. You deserve better than the trash offered there.

I love my job at Castle Peak! 
The managers are willing to work with you to achieve your work/life goals. They pay on par or above standard for retirement employment. They FEED YOU...I mean, do I need to say more lol?
The staff and residents all have an excellent sense of fun and humor, you'll  find yourself laughing all day! 
As with anything in life, if you're dependable, honest and hard working you'll have no trouble fitting right in here!

No work home balance, expected to work 12 to 14 hr shifts. Always short staffed. Toxic employees talking behind your back. Management won't have your back. One cook doing all the cooking with no to little help. Breakfast lunch and dinner. Cooking for 120plus people on your own. Very underpaid and no ones cares about you. 

I was so happy to come work there and it was great at first. 

However, you quickly realize you are underpaid and not appreciated by management. . 

It’s  very sad because the home use to be amazing to work at! It was a family owned and operated business in every way. Castle Peak is far from being that anymore.
