The Canadian team is quite small and faces frequent drama. In my first year after being hired, I worked with three different supervisors due to ongoing restructuring issues. When my actual supervisor went on maternity leave for a year, the restructuring further complicated matters. Many of the senior and executive staff are young and seem inexperienced in managing organizational changes. Employment feels uncertain, as decisions to hire or fire can be arbitrary, often stemming from personal preferences rather than performance. There is a lack of regular performance reviews and feedback, leading to uncertainty about job expectations and the organization's future. Several colleagues were terminated within a year due to restructuring, with communication being inconsistent. However, the severance package provided is generous. CGC had a good record of job security and keeping their employees happy. Not anymore since the senior management was rebuilt. If you are already employed and looking for advancement in your career, I wouldn't recommend you leave your job for this company. 

Day work starts from physical exercises. 
Team usually divides by 3 types: 
1. working on rail pit - unloading rail cars with forklifts. Taking rail cars out and into warehouse with locomotive. Working on the floor unpacking unloaded product. Taking unpacked product from rail pit to warehouse. 
2. working on loading bay - picking product from warehouse and load it to trucks (shipping).
3. working on 2nd warehouse with bulk building materials on pallets (not drywall). 
We had safety lunches, amazon gift cards, reward points - for maintaining safety level, productivity. 
Some time it's hard to work outside during cold weather on winter. It takes up to 2 hours.

Distance to home and straight days

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management harassing and belittling you. Being lied to regarding overtime availability. Low rate of pay.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic and lots favoritism. If not a favorite or if you stand up for yourself they start building your file with ridiculous infractions everyone else gets away with.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Work when available and try to look busy when the work runs out, or else.

Working at cgc was an exciting every day of my life and safety for every one at work. I learned to be a great team player to an extent I became a team leader. Every was respected and the leadership was great in training    the works and providing them opportunity to move forward. I enjoy working every day and  leaning from both my coworkers and the management team I can't really think of one single day that upset me because we all work as a team.

Developed the ability to build winning relationships necessary for the successful accomplishment of management objectives. Exercised ethical personal and corporate conduct.  Optimized marketplace performance through sound business judgment and skillful time management. Combined exemplary human resources utilization and customer service decision making skills to exceed targets.

It is ok place to work if you have family there. They push their family members and family friends through the pay rates before non family. And you get three paid days off and three non paid days off and they get angry when you use them so hopefully your kids don’t get sick.

This office closed and we were all let go.  I would have stayed on with this company, but did not want to relocate to Oakville, Ontario.  This company was great to work for - always learning, always part of the team, always felt like we meant something!  It was a very sad day when they announced this office was closing.

The people there are pleasant and they are extremely safety oriented, but the rotating 12-hour shifts killed me. I am glad I have the experience to base future job searches. The pay was great and helped me get through that year of school but recovering mentally from the summer took about a whole year. Work is work I suppose!

Regardless if your working relations with your coworkers (I have pretty good things to say), it is an extremely standard up, professional, great company to work for. I haven't worked for them for over 9 years and I like the direction my career has went but I would happily return to work for them one day.

Daily routine of helping customers with orders, both on the phone and entering them into our system.  Learned about team management and coordination with the team manager, but there is really no opportunities for advancement within the company.
