What is the best part of working at the company?
Q the best part of my past employment with Chats for nearly 10 years was having the honor to work with such amazing coworkers. And the latter part of my employment management started to fluctuate on a few levels which in turn became a very stressful working environment. And unfortunately I had lost my momentum working for them because no matter who I advocated for whether it be co-workers or clients my voice wasn't heard. I don't recommend working there. It's very segregated on all levels.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management not addressing subjective and objective observations and neglecting to ensure their employees at one specific location are safe and have the necessities required to have a comfortable working space. A lot of matters were swept under the rug and nonchalantly ignored. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The culture is fine and the job is fine it's just the company is mismanaged and needs to be restructured. I invested nearly 10 years with this company and yet to get fired for advocating for my coworkers and clients for being declined toilet paper on a long weekend and having to bring it from home. And then sent with walking papers and demanded not to be reporting them to Ministry of labor. I did not sign anything and I was amazed when I saw a severance pay automatically deposited in my account. I deserved much more than that and the lack of compassion and empathy and understanding from management on all levels is not up to standard.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Aside from working in an assisted living building right beside 360 kids in Richmond Hill weather is constant violence police ambulances drug overdoses, gang violence etc. When it was reported to management and given there is a group that actually documents every single incident. When reported to management I was told that it was untrue even though I've seen the footage for myself and there are over 5,000 videos. Homeless kids smoking crack and meth right beside our satellite office in the stairwell and in the underground garage. Safety is a major major concern and it was swept under the rug. I'm glad I don't work there anymore. Your employers to look out for you and make sure your safety is paramount so the job is done safely.

CHATS is not a great place to work they put rules in place for face card but following them could cause you your job, Beginning with Supervisors they all love gossips and one experience with one person is the same experience with all their Management Team they don't judge you based upon their own experience with you  individually, They say they have a no blame policy thats a lie, The Supervisors really don't have skills for Supervision , this company  always need workers and thats a clear indication that they aren't a good company, Besides everyone whispers around the corner but they won't speak up about things affecting them,The Supervisors don't listen well and they listen to reply and not to solve the problem,when you report a client safety issue it goes on cold ice unless family members call before they start running about to fix it,There is one Supervisor who has a very poor habit of taking the messages about falsely either she adds or she takes away, she is scary because she is also crazy and lie straight to your face,They don't have hours so its frustrating and the salary is thin

Always had a good reputation prior to the pandemic. I got a job working for the Transportation Department and the person managing it was the most unprofessional, vile person I've encountered in that role. I quickly left, as did the person before me in the exact same position. The staff are really who make things happen. Management sits in their ivory tower (working from home) stirring up unnecessary conflict. 

My manager was the opposite of a manager- a mismanager

When I volunteered:
- days were very calming and relaxed (stress free)
- I learned to become more humble and enjoy the finer things in life
- It was very organized, tables to show menus for the upcoming weeks
- It was relatively really easy, just helping out, socialize and follow simple directions
- The most enjoyable part of the job was getting to know the clients

This employer offers fair wages and benefits to its employees. Managers are professional and supportive. The work demands are not too stressful but offer a challenge. The best part of the job is getting feedback and encouragement from all levels of management. Like a big family.

I am working at Community Home Assistance to Seniors (CHATS)  as a casual personal support worker since 2012.

I work in both Adult Day Program & Community Centre with other PSWs, coordinators & programmers to help seniors in community, and this group work is the most enjoyable part of the job.

Chats was my first community job as a PSW. I absolutely loved it so much. I was able to do what I love (helping people) as well as give back to the community and meet such lovely people. The schedule was very flexible and the staff/ corrdinators were so helpful. Thanks so much guys you are amazing🤗❤️😘

Driving to each client and following care plan 
Adjusting work to client demands
Checking in constantly with office for updates and changes in schedule
Lose of clients causing reduction of hours 
Most enjoyable part is meeting and developing a relationship with the client

CHATS had a responsibility to ensure they have adequate tools to conduct a quality and safe service. They put their employees and clients at risk with no regard.


Management doesn’t care until there’s some official meeting coming up. Great people but no room for advancement. They need to update their policies but again that only happens when there’s something official coming up.
