Cinram is a place where everybody has a chance to grow and learn different skills. Management are supportive of the needs of their employee and in return staff are working hard as if the are a part owner of the company. For me when I started working at Cinram I was just in entry level as a production helper until I learned different skills and was accepted at our Building Maintenance Department as a Senior Building Mechanic Technician. The latest position that I held was Chemical Waste Management, People at Cinram comes from different culture that everybody treat each other with respect and tolerance. In our department everyone is doing their job and if someone has the hardest job like lifting or moving machineries everybody is willing to extend hands. We also have a yearly Christmas party with lots of prizes to win and dancing.

Cinram was my first job in Canada and I learnt a lot here. I was a full time as a line worker and slowly I took interest in learning the different types of packaging machines, and then I learnt how the final product  is packed and sent for shipping. I also got trained as a Quality Control, I was a Line Lead too with around 25 people working under me. I always believe if you take up a job make sure you give your 100%. I was a multitask worker.
My Management was fine and as long as you do your job well, I had no issuse.
My co-workers were all good expect for a few but we were a close nit set of workers always ready to help each other and all multi culture, which had a healthy surroundings.
I enjoyed my job a lot and am open to learn more , but since we use to make DVDs and CDs and the demand in the market was cut by more then half, and secondly a new onwer took over the company and down sized the employees, I got layed off after working for 10 years in Cinram

My typical day at work starts from 3:45 pm and ends at 12:00 am. I have learned that doing a job that you like makes your day much easier for you. I had no problems with my Supervisor, cause i gave him his production what he needed at the end of the day. It was easy to work with my co-workers because i am a very pleasant person to get along with. The hardest part of my job is to work with people who cannot speak and understand English properly, because some part of my job was to train new comers to do the work and it is difficult to show them the work when they cannot communicate with me, but as the day goes by somehow i made it through. The most enjoyable part of the job is when i accomplished what i did at the end of the day.

Before when Cinram International still on top of the world market, it's a nice place to work with.learn how to operate different kinds of liftruck,like swing,dock stacker,reach truck.order picker,walkie.and also a temporary lead hand for more than one(1)year.we use AS400 program and RF Gun .We do Inventories,Put away,receiving products New & Returns,consolidations of products etc.
But the two or three years back Cinram Int'l losing money in the market due to piracy,online movies,downloading etc.Start to lay off people then last year they file for bankruptcy protection and lay off people.Then sold the Company w/o getting any benefits only for EI w/c is so sad for the workers.

Processing of Media Players. I learned how to create barcodes through computer system and likewise how to use machine. The Management was quite supportive. Workers were always quite on the work area. Organizing the products in the box [which includes physical activities] for submission to a particular department is the hardest part of the job. The most enjoyable part was the monthly get together of the management and workers.

Cinram is multinational company they have lot of branches overseas My duties is to check th Packing of DVD/ and Blue ray is correct as per norms if any any thing bad i have to ask operator to fix the machine with mechanics i have to count each and every DVD and Blue ray and packed in the box and after one skid finish the skid i have to ship to the shipping area. But i have to operate machine alternate week

A fast paced environment with daily production or engineering changes to be properly managed and resolved. Working along side an engineering team on new part development and manufacturing where valuable input and idea sharing was extremely important and enjoyable.

IT needs to fulfill requirements from Customers, Retailers, Carriers and internal operations, which makes the job very challenging. IT also needs to provide a very flexible and complicated tailor-made system to handle the seasonal volumes and international requirements.

Quite a variety of I/T staff experience spanning a larger and expected infrastructure which lended itself to more specific expertise in various areas of I/T. A great opportunity to travel and work.
